2 Billion Year Old Rock With Microbes In It Found

Have you watched the YouTube video I just shared right now. It's not Green screen or animation it's very real and this is a profound discovery.

Scientists recently found living microbes in 2 billion year old rock that was buried deep underground in South Africa. I actually wish I could fly there right now to see it for myself but I won't get access anyways.

The reason why this particular discovery is so important is because it's a prove that life can survive for a very long time in isolated environments. I really hope they go further is finding out why or what makes these living these keep being alive for that long maybe it could lead to a solution to our own aging problem. Perhaps I'm going way ahead of myself but it could happen that way.

The microbes were able to live without contact from the outside world for billions of years, and that's much longer than any previous findings we know of.

From their examination, the rock that has these Microbes come from the Bushveld Igneous Complex which is a large area formed from cooling magma.

Researchers used careful methods to ensure the microbes were not from contamination during drilling because that could be a possibility.

They sterilized the samples well enough and used a special dye to highlight any DNA that was present.

This research suggests that maybe similar microbes could exist on Mars. Mars is made up rocks like these so I'm sure the scientists will start paying attention to each and every unique rock to see if microbes could be found there like it was found here.

I don't know whether to consider these Microbes as aliens that landed without our NASA signals detecting but it's very strange.

NASA's Perseverance rover will soon bring back rocks from Mars that may be as old as this particular rock. What we find could help us learn about early life on Earth and the chances of finding life on other planets.
