Vote and Create Proposals in Splinterlands with This Ultimate Guide to SPS Governance

You know what I love about Splinterlands? It's not just an awesome game, but it's also a fantastic community of players, collectors, traders, and fans. We all have a say in how our beloved game grows and develops, thanks to the Splintershards (SPS) token, the game's official governance token.

So, are you curious about SPS governance and how you can have a say in the game? Don't worry, I've got you covered!

What is SPS governance?

Well, SPS governance is the cool system that lets SPS token holders like you and me participate in the decision-making process of Splinterlands. We can use our tokens to vote on various proposals that affect the game and its ecosystem.

These proposals can include stuff like:

  • Tweaking card balances or abilities

  • Adjusting reward distributions

  • Adding cool new features or game modes

  • And so much more!

And the best part? SPS governance is based on a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) model, which means there's no central authority controlling the game. Instead, the game is run by us, the community, through a transparent and democratic process.

If you're interested in the nitty-gritty details on how SPS governance works, how to get SPS tokens, and how to vote and create proposals, check out the Splinterlands Governance page.

How does SPS governance work?

  1. You can influence the game: By voting and creating proposals, you can help shape the future of Splinterlands!

  2. You can earn rewards: By staking and voting with your SPS tokens, you can earn more tokens as rewards. Plus, if your proposal gets approved, you might even receive a portion of your proposed budget as compensation for your work!

  3. You can learn and grow: By participating in SPS governance, you can learn more about the game and its mechanics, learn from other players, and grow your reputation within the Splinterlands community.

How to vote and create proposals in Splinterlands

Wanna know how to use your SPS tokens to vote and create proposals in Splinterlands? No worries, just follow these steps:

  1. To vote, first stake your SPS tokens on the Splinterlands site. The more tokens you stake, the more voting power and rewards you'll get.

  2. To create a proposal, you need at least 10,000 staked SPS tokens on the site. Make sure you've got a solid idea with a reasonable budget and timeline.

  3. Check out existing proposals or make a new one by heading to the Governance page on the Splinterlands site.

  4. The Governance page shows active proposals up for voting or execution. Click on each one to see details like the title, description, creator, budget, timeline, votes, status, and more.

  5. Vote for a proposal by clicking the Vote button and choosing For or Against. You can change or take back your vote anytime before voting ends.

  6. Create a new proposal by clicking the Create Proposal button and filling out the needed info like the title, description, budget, timeline, etc. You'll also need to pay a 1,000 SPS token fee to submit it.

  7. After submitting, your proposal gets a 7-day voting period. During this time, other SPS token holders can vote for or against it. Promote your proposal on platforms like PeakMonsters or Splex to get more community support and feedback.

  8. If approved, your proposal goes into a 14-day execution period. Stick to your plan and budget, and keep everyone updated on your progress and results.

  9. If your proposal gets rejected or doesn't meet the criteria for approval or execution, it'll be archived, and you'll lose the 1,000 SPS token fee.

So, what are you waiting for? Dive into the world of SPS governance and be part of the exciting future of Splinterlands! And if you've got any thoughts or questions, don't hesitate to drop a comment below.
