Splinterlands Art Contest Week 280! | Acid Shooter Fanart

Hi there aliens of hive and specially to splinterlands, looks like i am going to have a consistent weekly entry for this art contest, cant believe that we are already at 280th week of this art contest hoping Splinterlands is here to stay. With that in mind I decided to draw a fanart of acid shooter. I really wanted to give him an anime look. Also one of the few reason I chose him as my subject in this week's art contest is because he's kind of interesting the character design as well as the dynamic pose of this specific card. All right enough with the intro lets hop in to the art process...

Materials / Software Used: Clip Studio Paint and my three year old! XP PEN Artist 12.

• I always start my work with messy blue lines, I want to give Acid shooter a freaky eyes and smile which would scare the enemies, also I decided to change some designs of the weapon he is holding.
  

• Then a clean lineart, what Ive learned from my experience while doing some digital arts is you don't have to do all the lineart instantly because it will took you more time rather than doing that is you just add some details after you finished the base parts or the necessary parts of the subject.

• Next would be coloring or painting the base colors. My words somehow redundant most of the time so sorry for that, well anyway up next is...
  

• Definitely shading is a must for an artwork it gives depth to your sketches.
  

• Highlight process also it is important since it gives life to your characters.
  

• Then using background tools it is much easier to use clipstudio paint that any other software since it has a lot of options to chose from and to download from its internal resources. That is all for now.
