Modern Warfare - A Bad Idea Gone Bust

Haven't posted anything in quite some time. Actually haven't really been playing that much...
Wanna know why? MODERN FORMAT.

The concept was great; "The OG's are dominating the Seasonal Play. That's not very fun for the newbies. Let's give them a shot. Let's make a new league where the OG's can't use their $100k+ decks so we can appeal to the masses and get more people involved."

The reality? Divide and crumble.

Newbies flocked to modern, OG's split their playing time. Cards are now half as useful, card market crashes.

Time Committment Doubles. Gotta keep up your Wild and your Modern rankings if you want your guild to succeed. Side hustle hobby play just became a fulltime gig.

Enter the bot.

No one can put in the time necessary to climb the ranks and remain at the top of the charts, let's automate it. Great. Now no one has to play. It's a game. It's supposed to be played. SMDH... Market continues to crumble.

Now no one's playing. Everyone's botting or Renting out their decks.

"Let's fix this bot issue by making it so modern format can't be botted. That'll fix everything!"

Reality?

Congrats. You killed modern.

My proposal? Go back to one league, modern's dead as a doornail without bot play. One league. Let the bots bot at reduced earnings. Bring the fans back. Keep it simple. Stupids.
