REBELLION REWARDS OVERVIEW - FIRE SPLINTER
So it's been a while since the last time I wrote articles on Splinterlands. So on this occassion, I'm gonna give some overview on the new things coming in Splinter. Let's start it with the new Rebellion Rewards from Fire Splinter.
For Fire Splinter, we will be introduced with 7 (seven) new cards. They are evenly varied from the low to high mana and also each of the attack types (melee, ranged, and magic).
DRYBONE HOBGOBLIN
Hobgoblin filled the role of a mid-mana supporting melee cards due to its Reach ability. This card complement the Splinter similar Pirate Of Eight and Wailing Wraith. Hobgoblin doesn't pose so much superior ability compared to both of them. It superiorty come from its 5 speed which will be attained only at Level 7, this help to steal some kills before any attack is coming.
CHAOS EVOKER
Another Blast damage dealer and this time using magic damage. Blast really pack some damage if aimed at the right direction. I'm a bit skeptical with this card, taking the fact that the number of Reflection Shield is growing and the damage of this card gained no growth at all. Ambush seemed to mend this card firepower by allowing extra damage prior to battle. Other than that this card seemed more suitable as a hybrid of Striker and Tanker type.
DRYBONE MEGALODON
Drybone Megalodon will be the new mega-Tanker of fire Splinter. Thick armor and health (even with 4 speed at max) will hold your opponent at bay. Usually Tanker card would be accompanied by Shield or Void Shield. But this one seemed to rely more on counter-attack with double damage coming from Thorns and Retaliate.
CONTINUUM SEER
This one is another new unique addition to have. A card which rely on missed attack to make remarkable performance. This is the only card which could reach a tremendous 8 speed. The high speed synergize incredibly with Phase and Backfire to return every incoming attack while sustaining no damage at all. Even at max level, this card still pack 3 magic damage for 4 mana. True Strike will be the only weakness of this card.
KHA'ZI CONJURER
Here we have the Debilitation ability for the fire splinter. Debilitation is somehow is difficult to predict. Incendiary totally pack some damage with 2 damage each round starting the 2nd round. In addition it has 33% chances to spread to adjacent units. For Kha'zi which only have 4 health this certainly painful. This card will work better if the strategy is to go with a blitz attack. A 4 damage with 3 speed will certainly blow any defenses. Fortunately this card just grow more menacing with each new level. Not only dealing more damage but also having Piercing will secure certain kill. Keeping Cleanse is a must when deploying this card.
SURLY DRUNK
Surly Drunk is freash new addition to the collection. A 1 mana card with Opportunity is unprecedented. Its so exacto to have Surly Drunk as a Lgendary type. The growth quite decent but enough to emppower this card. The last level which grant damage growth are the ultimate gain to pursue for this card.
EMBERGUARD
Emberguard is rather bit frail for a Legendary type one. Its easy to find other cards with 2 magic for only 7 mana, although the 7 health will make this card a little bit tanky. Demoralize will make this card a suitable anti-melee, and even Reflection Shield will add counter-measure against Magic Reflect. Other than that the status growth and Dispel ability are rather less worthy to pursue.
