Rare Moments in Splinterlands Battle GamePlay - A DRAW!

Happy weekend dear friends. Never stop trying something new this week and be grateful for each feat you achieve. I am thrilled to already unbox something new on Splinterlands battle and it got me researching more about Splinterlands gameplay rulesets and card abilities.

I've been pressing on with battles to see if I can be lucky to have the broken arrows ruleset for the ongoing battle mage secrets challenge and this battle against BANDAD913 showed up.

The battle showed up with "Noxious Fumes" ruleset. I think it is the first time I played a battle with such ruleset. If I did, I can't actually remember. Here is the description of the "Noxious Fumes" ruleset in splinterlands battles:

  • All monsters are Poisoned at the start of the game.
  • Monsters with Immunity are not poisoned.
  • This is a one-time application - monsters that are cleansed or resurrected will not be re-applied with poison.
  • Enrage is triggered by Poison application.

The battle was rated 25 Manna so I selected my favourite 4 water monsters for the battle. Here is the line-up:

Summoner: KELYA FRENDUL (+1 Speed and +1 armor to all friendly monsters).
First Monster Unit: PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS (Flying, Dodge abilities) - High speed and manna attack, Good health rating of 7
Second Monster Unit: DEEPLURKER (Opportunity ability) - high melee attack and attack from any position in the line-up.
Third Monster Unit: MERDAALI GUARDIAN (Tank Heal ability) - always a good support system for leading monster.
Last Monster Unit: ICE PIXIE (Flying ability)- good speed and evading attack.

The enemy team were led by FAILED SUMMONER with magic reflect ability. With the Noxious Fumes, all the monsters were poisoned at the start of each round of the game. Each surviving monster lost -2 health. That was a scary damage to my monster as I watched the game.

After the first round of the game, my team lost one monster and that was the last monster - ICE PIXIE. The enemy team lost two monsters.

At the end of the second round of the battle, all 5 surviving monsters were still alive. However, poisoning at the the start of the third round made me lose one more monster. The funny thing about the poisoning is that it damages the health of a monster directly without touching the amour. So it behaves much like a 2 magic attack monster.

At the end of the third round of the battle, there were just two monster left in the battlefield, one for my team and one in the enemy's team. They both had 2 health left in the battle.

With my knowledge of the monster cards abilities, the enemy had the advantage being that its monster was a 5 speed monster which would have attacked first. Besides, the only surviving monster in the enemy team had the flying ability which means it could possibly evade an attack from my melee attacker.

While I was trying to contemplate what the next action would be like, the poisoning for the fourth round happened and damaged the two lone monsters from both teams. That's how the battle ended in a draw. We both did not gain/split rating points. It is a rare gameplay experience.

It was a special battle for me and I am glad I won.
