Summoner's Week: Possibilus the Wise
Introduction
Possibilus the Wise is a prime example of this balance. This legendary monster is not only strong but also efficient in terms of the number of copies needed to max him up.
His abilities are all helpful and when used properly, can give you a significant advantage. Join me as we explore what possibilities Possibilus the Wise can do for your team.
Possibilus the Wise is very strong. He's also a legendary monster which means you need less number of copies to max him up. The abilities are also all helpful and in the right hand, can be really strong.
+2 Health: [Stat Modifier] Positive Status] All friendly monsters has their Max Health increased by 2.
Trample: [Damage] If a monster with Trample kills another monster, it can attack again targetting the next monster on the lineup.
Reach: [Attack Modifer] Monsters with melee damage can attack while in 2nd position.
Pros
- Good Abilities All abilities are useful. Even if you're not using a full melee team, the 2 extra health is still a big one especially if your build on that battle has some form of restoration like Heal, Tank Heal, or Triage.
- Trample gives access to Stampede rule of combat. Trample ability is needed to activate the Stampede rule of combat just like how Stun ability is needed to activate the Knock Out rule of combat.
- Good Monster Compatibilities with Water Splinter. Surprisingly, there are a lot of good melee monsters for both Water Splinter and the Neutrals. This gives you quite a number of options to use with Possibilus the Wise.
Cons
- High Mana Cost.6 mana cost is high especially in like 25 mana cap battles or lower. Sometimes, it would be better to use a weaker summoner in exchange for having a stronger monster on the board.
- Melee Focused Summoner. While it doesn't restrict you from using non-melees like in the game example I have below, it is still better if you focus on melee due to that Trample ability.
- Lots of Restrictions especially on lower League.Lost Legendaries, Little League, Rise of the Commons, are some of the rules of combats that either not allows this summoner or can limit your options very much. Not to mention that if you have lower mana cap, it would be better to use other summoners instead.
Stampede |
When a monster with Trample ability kills an enemy, the effect of Trample resets. This effect lasts until the monster with Trample ability kills the last monster or the attack failed to kill a target: Stampede rule of combat requires the monster to have Trample ability. Possibilus the Wise does just that which makes him the best summoner for this rule of combat.
Up Close & Personal |
During this battle, only monsters with melee damage type are allowed: Since this rule of combat focuses on melee monsters, then it is obvious that this rule of combat is made for Possibilus the Wise.
Melee Mayhem |
All melee monsters on the board can attack from any position targetting the opponent's monster on the 1st position: Not only your monster will be able to attack from any position, but since they get to focus the monster on 1st position, the Trample will also activate every time your melee monsters kill another. |
Armored Up |
All monsters gain +2 armor for this battle: Since Possibilus the Wise is a melee-centric team, Armored Up rule of combat can delay your progress especially in Stampede rules of combat. |
|
Fog of War |
Removes the Snipe, Sneak and Opportuniy abilities for this battle.: Trample only activates on melee attacks and removal of Opportunity ability is a huge hit. This limits how you can use the Trample ability due to lack of melee monsters that can attack the monster in 1st position. |
|
Back to Basics |
During this battle, all monster's abilities are disabled: Stampede rule of combat requires the monster to have Trample ability. Possibilus the Wise does just that which makes him the best summoner for this rule of combat. |
Coastal Nymph |
This summoner fits Coastal Nymph a lot. Coastal Nymph doesn't have any defensive ability and not a lot of armor or health to be used as the main tank. Reach allows her to attack from a safer distance while the Double Strike ability means twice the chance to activate Trample each round.
Cruel Sethropod |
Since Cruel Sethropod don't have any ability, having any ability is good. You can position him in the 1st or 2nd position due to his damage and stats.
Deeplurker |
The Opportunity ability can attack monsters from earlier position as long as it has the lowest health. This gives him a chance to activate Trample ability while attacking from the back. |
The strategy for this is to have Coastal Nymph on the safest position as possible as she deals damage. That is the role of the Triage support with Wave Brood and its Taunt-Void combo.
Lineup
Possibilus The Wise
Gives Coastal Sentry the Reach ability to give her the ability to attack from a safe distance. The extra 2 health helps give me advantage especially increasing the Triage restorations to Wave Brood.
Cruel Sethropod
A low mana cost monster with amazing health and armor for being 3 mana cost.
Coastal Sentry
The main damage of this team. Her abilities and damage complement Possibilus the Wise to the tee.
Hardy Stonefish
I have a gold Hardy stonefish that I bought moons ago. Gives me extra rewards for the wins for just 1 mana cost.
Wave Brood
I usually add a monster with Taunt ability to further assist Coastal Sentry. Opponents need to blast through this Void bearing Taunt monster first before they get to deal with my front line.
Angelic Mandarin
A support for Wave Brood. The Triage complements with the range Taunt and the Silence complements the Void ability.
Spirit Hoarder
Another Triage ability with other supports. The Triage is the most important as it keeps Wave Brood alive for longer.
A very easy win. Even though the Armored Up and Holy Protection rule of combats did not really help me in any matter, it did not matter as I have a better stronger build than my opponent. Since I have a strong solid strategy, that overcame those annoying rule of combats that helped my opponent instead of me.
In this game, even though the Armored Up and Holy Protection rules of combat didn't have a significant impact on the result, my strong strategy and solid build still worked.
I was able to overcome the challenges given by those rules of combat and defeat my opponent, showcasing the importance of having a well thought out strategy in Splinterlands.
Possibility the Wise really lives up to his name. It can unlock unlimited possibilities on your strategies as long as you will be wise about it. Master this summoner and give yourselves an easy win along the way.
