Battle Mage Secrets, Weekly Challenge, Ferocity!

Coming back in this wee for another one of my Battle Mage Secrets, this time around is all about being Furious when someone taunts you!
image.png

Yeah, I know, not a great segway but it worked out! This one doesn’t change the game too much, you just have to make sure you can spread that damage around, going first helps, but stay away from the taunt and you should be pretty good with this fight.

The battle that we are examining for this one is a mid-level mana cap at 32 plus:

Equal Opportunity: All Monsters have the Opportunity ability.
Ferocity: All Monsters have the Fury ability.
Broken Arrows: Ranged attack Monsters may not be used in battles

Broken Arrows doesn’t make too much of an impact due to Equal Opportunity, since melee can attack from anywhere, which is kind of nice, it does limit some choices with it, but looking at taking a big swing on this one!
Here is the quick link to the battle, from the Gold Modern league: (Link however, I will break it down, then you might want to watch again.

First up, the Summoner:

A couple of things on this one, I wanted the speed, but also the ability to open up the dragon as well. I was really looking at the conscript ability, that was the big one here.

The front line was the Djinn Chwala

I do love this card, the 6 armor, 10 health, but then the 3 attack, add to that some thorns and you have something that is truly amazing!

This monster really comes on strong when it hits level 5, it gets the void ability, which really does help to cancel out some of that magic damage.

Next up:

This is my favorite gladius card, just amazing, 2 magic damage, 2 melee, good speed at 4, good health at 12. Then you throw in a self-heal along with a bloodlust, oh yeah. Having the opportunity ruleset I hope to knock out the other guy quickly so that Quora can gain some bloodlust and just totally knockout the other team!

This one is here to absorb some hits, more than likely, just one, but still taking it away from my other monsters.

Lastly:

This one is here to take a hit, but then having the magic reflect there to hopefully knock down any magic users that pop-up.

Initial thoughts on this fight was to keep some heat off of me for the first round or 2, but then let Quora take over with the bloodlust and self-heal that by the time she gets up front she will be a force! Also having Chwala in there to do some melee damage should help out with the thorns.

Even though the enemy also used Quora, mine worked out better, since she is level two she got to go first and just knocked out 2 guys quickly, then the timing hit and it was off to the races with it!

Things to keep in mind with the Ferocity ruleset:
• Don’t use taunt
• Play around with the other rules and go for a strong point
• Seriously, stay away from taunt
• Speed and opportunity helps to knock them down faster so you get hit less
