Splinterlands Art Contest | Spirit of the Forest

It's week 251 of the @splinterlands art contest and this is my submission. I've been drawn to nature related works latey, I did a similar card last week and this week I chose to recreate the Spirit of the Forest. She's the creator of life in splinterlands and nothing happens without her knowledge, she can only be summoned by a highly skilled summoner. I really love this card, the leaves above her head,her clothes and mostly the colours in the work....

Process

This is a pose I've never tried out before, its basically a girl leaning forward. I did the sketching with the help of my usual guidelines and it looked just okay, trying out new things can be fun sometimes. I really love the cool tones in this work and I was really excited to work with the colours. I painted the flat colours for her clothes, hair, skin by basically picking colours from the original work. I also painted her horn, eyes and other facial features. I did a very simple style for the clothes because I didn't want to do too much considering the fact that I was working on a new pose.

For the rendering, I started with her skin, adding shadows and highlights where necessary. I then went on to add more colours and details to her clothes, she looked great at this point. I painted the leaves and flowers on her horn,added more strands and colours to her hair, also painted the gem and her neck piece. I really love that gem and the placement, since she's leaning forward with her hands on a tree branch, I painted more grass on the tree and added butterflies. At this point I was really satisfied with it, I painted her hand bands, more green lashes, added some glow around her checks, chest and hair area. I chose a very simple background and there you have it, I love it and I hope you do too...
