Splinterlands and Axie Infinity Content

This is in relation to a post made by @hitmeasap detailing what keywords we are seeing for Splinterlands and Axie Infinity.

After doing Bitcoin yesterday, let us try to get a lot of articles about these two topics. It is vital we use some ones from Leofinance.io.

Haha. I am planning to do a 'Splinterlands vs Axie Infinity' blog. Taking my friend's help who plays both these games but he is more of an Axie Infinity guy.

Today's discussions would really help to gather some cool info on these games. ✌

That will be an excellent article. We need more topics like that.

Be sure to drop the link in here if I dont see it so we can get it to the front page. I also will tweet it out.

Let us get it a bit of coverage.

For sure. Thanks for the support Task. I think we should do more of such comparisons with other Trading card games in the Play-To-Earn space. It will also help us learn what others are offering.

I am truly fascinated by the idea of renting your digital assets. It's a brilliant idea and Splinterlands is acing it.

The idea of taking any asset we have and turning it into more is excellent. We are seeing a great many opportunities arising.

I think the #play2earn is going to be huge. But NFTs, once we get passed the mania, are going to have a lot to offer.

Did you see the Splinterlands SPS price also took a hit after today's marketwide drop?

We've been talking about price projections of $10-$20 after everything settles.

Could be a nice buying opportunity?

Isnt the total supply like 2 billion?

Or did I misunderstand some things?

If that is the case you are putting SPS at around $20 billion?

I might be totally confused here.

As per the whitepaper Max. supply is capped at 3 Billion Tokens. So, $30 billion. 😮

Yeah that seems a bit excessive to me to believe we are going to see $10 SPS.

Even if the game becomes wildly successful, it is tough to see that in my opinion. But markets are funny things.

Perhaps we will also see burns over time.

I think $10 SPS in a few years might be possible but yea the price right now isn't exactly enough right now.

But okay based upon what you said I took the few swap.hive I had and got some more SPS.

I am sold on it long term so it will end up higher in a couple years, I am confident on that.

Now I am confused. I agree with his numbers at 220 million. Yet that is not the total SPS.

As @finguru showed, it is 3 billion. That is more than 10x the numbers he is using.

Still a lot of room to run from 28 cents but $20 seems difficult considering the total available.

Yes, I went back through the white paper and discovered that even though the airdrop will be done in a year, they will still be releasing SPS for a total of 5 years. Whoops! lol That's why you DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH instead of just listening to morons like me.

So, while the supply is going to ultimately be much higher, I still think that over the time it takes to get there, SPS will do very well. It DOES, however, mean that #Splinterlands is going to have to keep killing it with development. I don't see why they won't but...the tokenomics aren't quite as good as I thought they were.

That said, Axie Inifinity currently has a $4B market cap so....plenty of room to grow.

Yeah I dont doubt there are higher levels. The question is how high can it go with 3 billion tokens looking at being issued.

We shall see. I believe we will get to a couple bucks at least which is a very nice gain from here.

Well, the biggest piece to this for me is the fact they are free. You don't need too much upside when your average cost is right around zero. lol I think I bought just over 300 of them for a total of $100 early on to kind of jumpstart the staking. I'm up to around 1700 now for the same $100. Granted, I've now probably put in about $3000 into the game itself (cards, land, DEC, and some SPT) so that is all adding to the SPS as well, but I fully expect that all of that will be covered by the SPS at some point and then some, and I'll still have the other assets with their values for the most part increasing so...we'll see what happens.

As I've said a couple other times, we've got quite possibly the #1 game in all of cryptoland blowing up in our backyard. I'm going to try to take advantage of it. Worst case, just pool DEC/BUSD. Earn some CUB and double your airdrop points for SPS. You don't even need to bother with the game. Stake the CUB in the den and stake the SPS in the game and compound your interest. A small investment can go a long way with 10+ months left on the airdrop and CUB at 52 cents....

According to Coingecko, Hive is sitting at just below 85 cents.

This is a strong position.

It also allows for the massive of expansion of HBD without the conversion being shut down or payments altered.

Even when the market tanked? This is good news.

Also, I see HBD near its peg.

Yes the price of HBD was pushed way down. Hive help up well during the tank.

This means we are sitting in fine position. We will see if it holds.

Yea but it also means there will be less people doing the HIVE -> HBD conversions. I wonder if the amount of HIVE being removed from the exchanges will now drop because they aren't doing so anymore.

This is the best time to get HIVE off the exchanges, power up and use it to make more money while the market is down. Because when it gets back up, you will have more coins and tokens that could give you extra profit in the next bull run.

On the latest developers call, Blocktrades says he is going to put forth to the community to have the cap of HBD increased from 10% to 20%.

This is something @edicted wrote about in Hive dominance HBD buffer. It looks like he might get his wish.

That would be awesome! I'm going to need a place to stash all my gains from #Splinterlands at some point. Making 20% on a stablecoin seems like a VERY good idea!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

0

It is not a 20% interest. This is referring to the shift on the cap where the chain stops printing HBD if the ratio of HBD to Hive is 10%. Since HBD is a debt instrument, it is a way to protect the stability of the economy.

Nevertheless, with the growth that took place here, Blocktrades, at least, feels that can be moved up to 20% before the shut down.

What you are referring to is in the hands of the witnesses. They can move it up to 20% at any time.

Haha yea, maybe 20% is a bit of a stretch but I think some of the witnesses have already set it to 12% so we could see that soon if enough of them are on board. Maybe even 15%!

12% to just HODL with virtually no risk. That would be so amazing. My biggest unknown has been what to do with my crypto when the bear market hits. This last time I just rode it out. Up, down, and now up again. I'd love to have a place to park a large percentage where it could be liquid yet still earn a decent return AND I would feel it is secure. I still don't trust any of the big stablecoins. I use them but I don't hold much there for any length of time. HBD could really be an amazing vehicle to weather the storm. It would also be available to take advantage of any crazy HIVE dips in the bear.

I'm really hoping they've got the peg for the most part figured out...

Splinterlands got a little love in an article announcing BSC's first year celebration.

Splinterlands is an NFT card trading and gaming platform that recently partnered with gaming giant Animoca Brands. X World Games is a decentralized gaming ecosystem built on the BSC and Ethereum.

It is interesting to see where the name of that game is showing up.

Now we need about 5 more like that on Hive.

It may be a #Splinterlands day, but Bitcoin is definitely still in the news.

Buying on leverage (or shorting, for that matter) is just flat-out crazy when you're talking about an asset that can move 10-20% in a day on a fairly regular basis. Another example of traders getting rekt...

Volatility is a trader's best friend, as long as on the right side of the trade.

Shorting is a money make, or you can lose your ass.

That is not for the inexperienced and those with weak constitutions.

Shorting is betting that prices go down. Basically you borrow BTC and promise to pay back the lender later. If BTC goes down, you buy back BTC and give it back to the original guy so you make money. However shorting has unlimited risk because if BTC rises 100x, you basically lost 100x your initial investment.

We're still seeing plenty of hype around Avalanche (AVAX).

Did you see that Topps switched From WAX to Avalanche to launch their new baseball NFT collection?

When you look at how much NBA topshots banged and consider that baseball is more popular (don't come at me), this switch to Avalanche is a really big deal.

NFL is ranked #1 because of the gambling, even if the NFL denies it encourages gambling.

Gambling also exists in MLB, NBA, daylight, and NHL, but it only makes sense for a small percentage of people. Meanwhile, NFL spawned TV programs devoted to gambling.

I think gambling exists in MLS, but I don't think enough people care; why gamble on MLS when you can gamble on Premier League, Bundesliga, or any game featuring Barcelona?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea that makes sense... I wouldn't imagine people gambling on MLS. It's been growing in popularity, I heard, but it's still a niche thing I believe

Major League Soccer has come a long way since it's launch after the 1994 World Cup, and it has popularity unprecedented in its history.

Still, it is seen worldwide as a league where star players come to earn their final payday before retiring as players. It also hasn't found a way to produce young players, which is why young players get experience in other countries before returning stateside to play in MLS.

When it comes to developing young players to one day play in the major league or the top league, MLS doesn't have the infrastructure of the soccer powers in South America and Europe. Then again, by the time MLS was launched futbol had been a national pastime in those locations for nearly 100 years. There is promise for MLS.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yea, I think it can be even bigger than the South American leagues someday. We have a lot of talent here in south America but the league is very poorly managed

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

0

Mismanagement of MLS may be part of the problem, but I don't see that as being the major factor. For me, it looks as if there is no pipeline to MLS for young talent.

MLB has minor leagues for professional baseball players. Both the NFL and NBA use colleges and universities as training grounds for pro players. The National Hockey League uses minor leagues, colleges/universities, and players from foreign major leagues. Major League Soccer depends on mainly on schools, colleges, and universities to bring in young players.

Quality of play has improved dramatically since 1994, but the young players of MLS are no match for the young players from countries where futbol has been played for 100 years or more.

Seeing the numbers that @splinterlands is putting up compared to an entire blockchain like Ethereum is very impressive.

Wait until #projectblank gets rolling. Can you imagine how many "comments" we will leave once that goes live?

I presume each blank will be considered a transaction just like a comment is.

I have a feeling it is going to be a fair bit.

This will be something that even if it is 10 per account, it will require a million HP very quickly.

I think there will be 100K users quicker than people expect.

If they use proxy accounts, it will be fairly easy to load up the HP. However, as people start getting their own, they are going to need some HP delegated.

I guess it will be up to everything to step up.

We had a great interview today with Khal from @leofinance on CryptoManiacs.

He covered a lot of stuff. Nothing new was revealed but he did express his long term overall vision.

Also, he believes that #ProjectBlank is going to be a game changer for both Hive and cryptocurrency.

Most importantly, he did not flinch when I mentioned it being on slate for the end of the year. I think he feels confident that deadline will be met.

The mobile application is still targeting October 1.

Axie Infinity is quite famous among developing countries such as Brazil, Venezuela, and the Philippines.

Axie’s user base saw a rise from 30k daily users in April to 1 million in August.

Do you think Splinterlands should market itself in these countries to gain more exposure? The cost of getting started on Splinterlands is much lower than it is on Axie Infinity. Also, transactions are free here.

Yes. Also, there is a huge chunk of population in our countries which is unemployed. It can become their new business venture.

I know a guy who lives in Bali. During covid his e-commerce business was hit. His hotel was not getting any bookings. What did he do? Pitched his idea to a bunch of investors. Got funding of 100k just through social media promotion. Invested all of it in Axie Infinity and other games. He connects investors with seasoned players. Everyone makes money.

He has now created a startup out of this - https://www.investplay.io/. Just using an internet connection, playing games, sipping cocktails while watching beautiful Bali sunsets. 😂

Screw you Covid!

I don't know if it would work as well on Splinterlands because the initial investment is low, at least for now.

By the way, one thing Khal did mention on the show today, we could see a SPS-BNB (I believe that was the pair) LP on Cubfinance.

That will provide another place for people to park there SPS as well as getting a return. Since they are already on Cakefinance, I guess it is easy to do.

No word on time frame on that.

Would the SPS in the pool count towards anything as far as the airdrop goes? I'm guessing probably not, right? So you would have to choose between using the SPS to earn CUB or staking it in the game to earn more SPS?

Just finished watching CryptoManiacs Podcast ft. Khal. Another amazing episode with some (a lot of) LEO Goodness. You are in safe hands when your hosts are Task & Jon because they extract every drop of sweet sweet nectar from the minds of the guests. 😂 Took some notes for everyone but I would highly recommend you to watch or listen the whole episode for a better experience:

  1. We are getting LEO Mobile App because of #ProjectBlank is planned to be first released on mobile. LEO mobile app will be forked into the PB mobile app and we start from there.
  2. PB App will look similar to Twitter obviously with the Lion's touch. You will be able to share your BLANKs on Twitter with one click just like you can do with Leo Finance posts.
  3. Project Blank is just the codename. Real name of the app is still a mystery to us.
  4. Hive 'Lite Accounts' coming via Leo Finance and PB Apps. We can onboard straight from Twitter with "Login with Twitter" button.
  5. You might be able to store your Tweet history on Hive making your content immutable. Safe from Twitter bans.
  6. Leo Finance mobile app with core features is planned for release on 1st Oct. After 2 months the web app's UI will change as well and it will be similar to mobile versions (iOS & Android)
  7. Leo Finance's operates on this commanding principle: Create depth and width for the community. Width - Increase the no. of users. Depth - Provide enough opportunities for the community members to stay.
  8. 3 More IDOs in Progress with finalized deals. Khal is already in talks with other projects for the 4th and 5th.
  9. PolyCUB IDO is also coming that will expand CUB Finance to Polygon Network.
  10. IDO architecture has been updated. BUSD will not be used. A post is coming on this one.
  11. Leo Finance Whitebook is coming? White paper wasn't enough. 😁

Really excited to see the new mobile app. 22 days left until release!! It's going to be a 'game changer' for all of us involved. Do you think there will be a new token? I wonder if there's going to be an airdrop coming with it.

It's actually crazy to think how far we've come in such a short period of time. As I've said in the past, the financial energy percolating just below the surface of HIVE and LEO is immense. #Splinterlands is blowing up but their in the process of doing a year-long airdrop (which I think is pretty genius, by the way), but it is certainly keeping the price down. Once HIVE and LEO start breaking out, there is really nothing standing in their way from making a BIG run. There are obviously lots of tokens in circulation for HIVE but measuring it monetarily, it is still very small. $288M and #207 on CoinGecko right now. For some perspective, there are currently 97 coins/tokens valued at over $1B. HIVE should really be a top 100 coin at a minimum in my view. That's a 3-4x from here, just to get in the ballpark. $3-$5 is where it should be sitting now IMO. And it can run from there when some of these other projects start coming out...

We need lite accounts. Newbies can learn about Hive and its complex key structure later on. First onboard them and give them basic functionality and then for extra transactions, they need the damn HIVE account. Chances of conversion are much higher once they start using the app.

There are so many things I love about this article on Splinterlands and the importance of outer world use cases.

It tells a bit of the story of Magic The Gathering the most successful and the grandfather of all trading card games and shows how Splinterlands could tap into the potential of this niche, such as Magic has been doing for almost 30 years.

It also outlines the importance of dApps such as Splinterlands in bringing traffic to Hive.

No real #Splinterlands thread is complete without explaining what the in game currency, DEC (Dark Energy Crystals), can be used for and how it factors in to the #Play2Earn mantra...

What is Splinterlands DEC?

Imagine my delight when I awoke and saw Hive at $AUD1.45!

These prices mean two things- harder to buidl and I should have been investing more (is there ever a more)

Second of all and most importantly, a decent Hive price bolsters up communities and will attract more developers to Hive. Hive is still cheap compared to what it will be in 5 years time.

Keep going!

Hahaha I feel you

It's a double-edged sword! We want the price to rise but we also want it to stay low so we can buy more :P

It all does feed in. I think we still need some more pieces in our foundation. However, Hive is starting to gain some momentum.

For now, we just have to ride @splitnerlands and benefit from what they are doing.

However, the proposal by SpkNetwork really offered a lot of insight.

I am number 7 on the list, my lucky number! I was born on a Saturday (7th day of the week), the date of my birthday on the Jewish Calender is 19 Sivan 5721. The Pythagorean value of my first name, Daniel, is 27 (a multiple of 7s)!

Though spirituality is especially important to the number 7 in Numerology, it takes a more intellectual approach to life than an emotional one. It is an analytical number that enjoys gathering and filtering through information to find answers. Still, it has a more powerful intuition than you might expect which it uses as a guide. This combination of conscious and subconscious thinking allows the mind of the Numerology number 7 to shine a light into the very deepest realms to access hidden truths.

Question.
Do you think we should talk more about differences between CeFi and DeFi?
CeFi seems to be completely under control of rich people or VCs and the fly-by-night dev teams.
It'd be reasonable to make people aware about what DeFi is ..

0

Well Defi has the issue of all the rug pulls and etc right now. So I think people just prefer the safety right now of CeFi. Then again there are risks involved everywhere.

Yes but the thing is the basic decentralization and swaps will be killed if CeFi becomes a norm.

0

No I don't think it will be the norm since Defi will still have better returns and eventually people will move more digital. Would you want to pay more fees to Cefi or go to Defi?

I think we should.

It's important to educate people on all forms of decentralization

What are peoples thoughts on IDEX long time DEX been announced as Polygons partner and their official DEX which I'm not sure how that happened when they already had one?

Anyway it is mooning at 155% I'm abit scared going into this so jammed $100AUD. Do you think $5 - $10 or meet Cake at $25?

I kind of want to aim for 500 tokens but there is a big circulating supply and their 155% moon is concerning.

I would sit things out but it depends on what your willing to risk. I would probably do a bit more research first though.

I don't really know it so I can't say...

Having a Polygon partnership could be great for them, since it's gaining a lot of traction but that as far as I would guess

It rose 204% before dipping. Imagine buying in at 0.06c only for the token 4 days later to hit $1 oh my what would have been some epic wins for alot of people.

Latecomers May Regret Hesitating

Apart from being a computer ninja, snowden is a great investment advisor too. He is not wrong.

Nations that get in now will become superpowers in the future. As simple as that. Owning BTC will be as valuable as breathing oxygen and drinking water. ✌

The US government should sell $1T T-bills, sell then all to China, and then buy Bitcoin. In 10 years they could pay off the national debt and then earn interest from lending it out rather than paying interest. Dagger for President!!! lol

Addition by subtraction. HIVE has almost climbed into the top 200 by holding steady while the rest of the market took a beating.

Plus the market cap of Hive is going to be affected by the conversion of so much into HBD. That lowers the amount that is out there.

It is going to happen. There is a core group, I am sure, in El Salvador who will utilize it. This will get them talking among their friends.

One of the good things about all these wallets using Bitcoin is that it is very small amounts. It's one thing when Bitcoin swings 25% and you go from having $20k to $15k. It's a whole different thing when it goes from $30 to $22.50. People won't notice the volatility so much in the smaller denominations so hopefully they'll just buy and sell small amounts and use it whenever they want. Then when it all of a sudden makes a leap from $50k to $100k, they'll all really see the benefits of using Bitcoin in their daily lives.

It's going to be fun watching how this country reacts. It really could be a huge success story if it can pull an entire country out of poverty.

Yea and it looks like locked cards can also be rented out to others. So I don't see any reason not to unless you plan on selling the cards. Even then you only need to wait a for a few days.

Defi is harder to target since people can just spin things up. If anything, I think they might be able to go after major players who create tokens for pumps and dumps though.

Unless there is a rug pull which equals fraud, there is nothing for the SEC to look at no matter what the rate of return.
