Splinterlands Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge - Tenyii Striker
INTRODUCTION
Hi, I hope everyone is having a good time especially the people playing Splinterlands. I've been reading good feedback with the change of battle rewards from DEC to SPS. I hope the scarcity of DEC will help its price to stabilize just like what the devs are expecting. In the past week, I was so busy with work deadlines and I rarely had time to attend to my Hive account as I was more determined to finish my work tasks. I beat the deadline for my work outputs and afterwards, my wife and I went on holiday to see our friends and attend our goddaughter's birthday celebration. This was planned way way back that's why I worked harder to finish my work so I don't need to think about it when we are away. The thing is, I also wasn't able to complete the Battle Challenge for Venari Spellsmith last week. In factm, I already started my draft post but when we go for our vacation, I just didn't have time to play, much more to go blogging on Hive.
But I am back, more relaxed and refreshed after our get-away and I am ready to complete this week's Splinterlands SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge. The featured card is something I frequently use and it is good that the spotlight is on it for this week.
THE CARD
Pros and Cons
Based from experience, Tenyii Striker is more useful beginning in the Silver League. The main reason for this is its mana cost. At five (5) mana, you cannot use it in the LITTLE LEAGUE ruleset. In the Bronze league, it is very common to have very low mana cap in battles. As such, players often prefer to use other attack monsters with lower mana cost Serpentine Spy or Antoid Platoon. Nevertheless, this card is a go-to card for melee-focused rulesets, like MELEE MAYHEM and UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL.
In Modern Format, it also complements the summoner Tarsa. The increased melee attack that Tarsa provides to friendly monsters is a good thing for Tenyii and it is noticeable that a Tarsa+Tenyii in a team is very common in battles. Let's not forget about its SNEAK ability. It provides your team an attacker at the back. As you level up your Tenyii Striker card, its additional DODGE and BACKFIRE ability will be a natural game-changer.
General Strategy
It is hard to read my opponent's strategy based on his/her/their battle history. Most of the time, the Dragon summoner was used but there is a variety of the accompanying splinter which I think is dependent on the given ruleset for specific battles. As for rulesets, the ones we have for this battle are TARGET PRACTICE and NOXIOUS FUMES.
I already expect that this won't be a long battle because of the NOXIOUS FUMES ruleset. With that, my strategy really is to inflict as much as damage as possible and hope that with the NOXIOUS FUMES ruleset in place, it will bring on a much quicker kill to my enemy.
The Lineup
Summoner - Yodin Zaku
- Slot 1 - Grum Flameblade
- Slot 2 - Radiated Brute
- Slot 3 - Scavo Chemist
- Slot 4 - Tenyii Striker
- Slot 5 - Serpentine Spy
- Slot 6 - Blood Maker
Explanation of the lineup
To have a good start of my strategy I mentioned above, I put Yodin Zaku as my summoner. By giving BLAST ability to all my friendly monsters, they will deal and scatter more damage across the opponent's team lineup. Also, the +1 health it gives to my monsters is a great advantage given the NOXIOUS FUMES ruleset.
The tank monster I used is Grum Flameblade. I like this card primarily because of its BLOODLUST ability. Combining it with BLAST ability, the BLOODLUST triggers every time its kills an opponent, even if the damage dealt is because of the BLAST ability. In this match, the VOID ARMOR is also a good advantage should my enemy choose to use magic-attack monsters in the hope that they will damage my monster's health directly.
Next in my team is Radiated Brute. I seldom use this card to be honest. With the 38 mana limit, putting this in the second slot for its REACH ability and its mana cost is a good way to maximize my mana usage.
The 3rd spot goes to SCAVO CHEMIST. I used this card just because of its CLEANSE ability, which when triggered, will protect my Grum Flameblade against the NOXIOUS FUMES damage at the end of every round. However, I was so engrossed with the NOXIOUS FUMES ruleset that I forgot the other one... TARGET PRACTICE. This ruleset made the SCAVO CHEMIST a primary target by the enemy, making my reasoning (of using this card) somehow worthless.
Then we have our featured card, Tenyii Striker. When using Yodin Zaku, I also like to inflict more damage at the enemy back monsters. Hence, it is common for me to use monsters which will attack at the back and Tenyii Striker is a good example of that. Even the next two monsters will have the same purpose.
The fifth spot is Serpentine Spy. It's OPPORTUNITY ability is good to have to make sure that it can take away the monster with the least health. Most of the time, at the start of the match, these monsters are placed on the back, and with the additional BLAST ability, it ensures I will deal as much damage as possible.
The last monster is Blood Maker. I love this card, especially using it with Yodin. Being a range-attack monsters, Yodin will increase its attack by 1. At the same time, its SCATTERSHOT ability will surprise you which enemy monster it will attack. With the additional SNIPE ability though, I really don't know which of the two abilities will take precedence.
That's all folks, let's now proceed to the match. (SPOILER: I really loved that Tenyii, our featured card, is the one to finished the match!)
