Conflicts in Splinterlands: A New Airdrop System

Conflicts are a new airdrop mechanic for the Rebellion set in Splinterlands, where players must actively contribute to the war effort to gain a chance to earn rewards. Unlike the previous system, where players received airdrops only for the number of packs purchased, Conflicts require players to maintain their participation in the game by staking cards and packs. In total, there will be 9 Conflicts, each lasting approximately 30 days.

Requirements to Participate in Conflicts

In order to participate, players must meet the following requirements:

  1. Purchase Mage Wagons: These war vehicles can be purchased for 10,000 DEC or 10,000 credits. Each Mage Wagon allows players to stake up to 5 cards and 100 packs.

  2. **Own cards or packs from the Rebellion set: Players must own unopened cards or packs. Delegated or rented cards cannot be used in Conflicts, and those listed on the market are also not eligible.

  3. Bet your own cards and packs: Players must own the cards and packs they bet, as delegated or rented cards are not valid for participation.

It is important to note that packs do not have to have been purchased directly from the Splinterlands store. Players can purchase them in the card market.

How to Participate in Conflicts

The process to participate is simple: 1. Access the *Conflicts* page through the main menu. 2. Buy your *Mage Wagons* and start betting your *Rebellion* cards and packs. 3. As you stake cards and packs, you will contribute to the war effort, earning opportunities to receive an airdrop.

It is essential to adjust the audio volume to a comfortable level before participating in Conflicts to enhance the experience.

Cooldown Periods

There are several cooldown periods for managing *Mage Wagons*: - **After Adding Cards**: Adding cards to a *Mage Wagon* triggers a 15-minute cooldown before further adjustments can be made.

  • Auto-Fill Feature: After using the auto-fill feature for all available wagons, there is a 60-minute cooldown.

  • Clear All Feature: After using the option to clear all wagons, a 15-minute cooldown is applied.

  • End of Conflict: During the last 15 minutes of each Conflict, management actions such as staking or removing cards and packs cannot be performed.

  • Start of Next Conflict: During the first 15 minutes of a new Conflict, no management actions can be performed either.

Cooldown Periods

By betting *Rebellion* cards in a *Mage Wagon*, they remain available for play in brawls, tournaments, and ranked matches. However, while betting, cards cannot be rented, delegated, combined, or sold. If you choose to remove a card from a *Conflict*, it will immediately be available to be transferred or sold, without needing to wait for a cooldown period.

As for packs, each *Mage Wagon* allows you to bet up to 100 *Rebellion* packs, which contribute to the war effort. You can remove your packs at any time, which reduces the contribution they generate.

Contribution and Airdrop Calculation

Players' contribution to *Conflicts* is calculated based on the *Collection Power* (CP) of the cards wagered. The basic formula is as follows:

  • (CP x hours remaining in the Conflict) / 100,000 = Airdrop Opportunities

mceclip2.png

Each wagered pack adds 100 contribution points per hour. Higher-tier cards have more *Collection Power*, so they contribute more to the war effort.

For every 100,000 contribution points accumulated, one airdrop opportunity is granted. Additionally, for every 200 opportunities accumulated, at least one card is guaranteed to be received.

Rewards and Airdrops

Each *Conflict* offers a special airdrop card that participants have a chance to win. For example:

  • Rage: The airdrop card from the first Conflict, a legendary dragon with skills like Flying, Void, Weapons Training, Life Leech, and Affliction at its max level.

  • Kei: The airdrop card from the second Conflict, another legendary dragon with skills like Enfeeble, Reach, Ambush, True Strike, and Shatter.

If you fail to obtain the airdrop card, you can still acquire it in Rebellion packs or from the market after the Conflict ends. Additionally, there is a 2% chance that the obtained card will be a Gold Foil version. Players can also spend VOUCHER tokens to increase this chance to 4%..

Conflict Ending and Rewards

At the end of each *Conflict*, players will be able to acquire a card from the airdrop card, players can claim their rewards after a short 15-minute processing period. Contributions are reset for the next *Conflict*, but wagered cards and packs will remain in their *Mage Wagons* and automatically begin contributing to the new event.

Checking Results and Card Distribution

Once a *Conflict* has ended, players can check the card distribution and results by accessing the relevant section on the *Conflicts* page. Transaction details such as the number of cards won and the odds of obtaining *Gold Foil* versions are displayed here.

Leaderboard

There is a leaderboard that allows players to see how they rank in each *Conflict* compared to other players. This information is useful for assessing the competitiveness of each event and the odds of obtaining airdrops based on relative contribution. The board is updated every hour.

In short, Splinterlands Conflicts are a dynamic, competitive mechanic that requires active player investment to earn opportunities to receive valuable airdrop cards. Through strategic management of Mage Wagons and staking of cards and packs, players can maximize their rewards while participating in the story of the Rebellion.
