Odd Ones Out: Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles
Target Practice: All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.
Available Splinters: All except Light
Max Mana: 31

My Team

Considering the amount of mana required, I picked Earth. Earth has some decent odd mana cards in Gold level that would fit nicely in the 31 Mana cap.

Obsidian summoner provides +1 Magic attack to all units.

Pelacor Mercenary in the first position. For a common card, this is a pretty decent tank. It deals 3 melee damage, has 1 shield and 9 hearts. More importantly, it has Flight and Heal abilities. Pretty versatile tank.

Uraeus in the second position. Only 3 Mana but a very useful card. It has 3 melee damage and has the Poison and Sneak abilities.

Regal Peryton in the third position. It deals 3 Magic damage and has 6 speed and 7 hearts. It also has the Flight ability. Sometimes I use this card as a tank in low mana battles.

Spirit Hoarder in the fourth position. This card doesn't deal much damage but it's abilities are very useful in this battle. First it has Triage which heals my card with Taunt ability. Second, it has Blind which will make the opponent miss. Third, it has Dispel which was surprisingly served me well in this battle as it cleared the benefits of the double Martyr buff my opponent received.

Mycelic Slipspawn in the fifth and final position. This will deal 3 Magic damage while drawing the enemy attack with its Taunt ability. This card synergizes well with cards like Spirit Hoarder which has the Triage ability.

The Opponent's Team

My opponent's team was built around Grum Flameblade which is an anti-magic tank with its Void Armor and Void abilities. It's drawback is its 1 speed. This is no problem though as his summoner is Jacek which gives +2 speed to all units. He also placed Jacek between two units with Martyr ability but the benefit from these were cleared by my Spirit Hoarder.

The Battle

Due to the Target Practice rule, my opponent's Grum came to the battle a bit late. I was able to eliminate some of his cards before his Grum joined the battle. Also, the buff Grum received from Martyr was cleared. I easily won without losing any units.
