My Progress this Season

As another great season draws to a close I'm very satisfied as I will end the season in Silver 1 League again and I also earned enough Glint to buy a legendary draw.

I used the 25k glints to buy a legendary draw and I got a Sorriel The Bale.

This is a magic unit in the Fire Splinter. At level 1 it deals 2 Magic damage and has the Double Strike ability. At level 2 it gains the Blind ability. This is second Sorriel the Bale so one more and I can level it up.

In this edition, I will talk about my least favorite Splinter in the Chaos Legion, the Light Splinter. The reason is that General Sloan only gives +1 Ranged damage to all units which is pretty weak compared to other Chaos Legion summoners. Also ranged damage is weaker compared to melee and magic in my opinion.

I was playing in Silver League before so my favorite Splinters were Water and Earth. However, in Gold League and above and in higher mana battles, the Light Splinter is very competitive. Let's see this battle:

My Team

General Sloan summoner. He is my only summoner in the Light Splinter. Of course Ilthain or Grandmaster Rathe are stronger but my summoner is the cheapest 😅

Uriel in position one. He is a very strong tank with the Flying and Heal abilities. With his recharge ability he can one shot unshielded enemy tanks even with high hearts.

Djinn Renova in second position. It deals 3 magic damage and has the Strengthen and Triage abilities. It works so great with another legendary reward card, Iziar.

Time Mage in third position. It deals 2 Magic damage while debuffing the opponent's team with her Slow and Rust abilities.

Adelaide Brightwing in the fourth position. It deals 2 magic damage while providing support to the rest of the team with her Repair and Resurrect abilities. With her Flying and Immunity abilities she is also good in Earthquake and Noxius Fumes ruleset.

Venari Crystalsmith in the fifth position. It deals 3 ranged damage and provides another healer for my tank. This is the only card that takes advantage of General Sloan's buff but my team synergizes well together so it will win even without the summoner buff.

Iziar in the sixth position. This is one of the best reward cards as at level 1 it has the Taunt and Void abilities. It also deals 2 magic damage and has 12 hearts. It can be a tank in Magic only ruleset or can be placed in the back taking advantage of its Taunt ability. It works well with units with Triage ability like Djinn Renova.

The Battle

My opponent also chose the Light Splinter but with the better summoner, Grandmaster Rathe. Funny though he has more ranged units in his team although his summoner is not optimized for ranged units. Iziar did his job attracting my opponent's damage dealers while Djinn Renova heals him. My opponent's Uriel was eliminated first and that decided the battle as the rest of his team was cut down while my tank survived until the end of the battle.

Conclusion

Some Splinters may not be great in lower leagues as you may find them weak. However, as you go in higher leagues where the card abilities are optimized you may find it fun to play with Splinters you didn't appreciate before. That's why it's ideal to level up your cards as you play the game and earn enough SPS and Glints to use in upgrading your cards.
