Battle Mage Secrets - Melee Mayhem

I am here again for this week's

This week's challenge ruleset is "๐™ˆ๐™š๐™ก๐™š๐™š ๐™ˆ๐™–๐™ฎ๐™๐™š๐™ข."

Melee Mayhem is a ruleset where melee attack units can attack from any position.

Tips!

  • Many melee attack units with great abilities will be advantageous to use in this ruleset.
  • Arkemis the Bear: If this unit can attack from any position, it can use its halving ability to halve the attack power of your opponent's tank.
  • Exploding Rat: Melee attack units with the blast ability can now be positioned at the back, and they will cause great damage because of their blast ability.
  • Units with thorns ability: Most of the time, opponents will use units with sneak and snipe. By putting a unit with thorns as a backliner, it can not only attack from its position, it can also damage units with sneak and snipe abilities.
  • Units with Bloodlust ability: Cards with Bloodlust can now be protected by placing them anywhere except the front while they damage opponents and increase their stats every time they kill an opponent's unit.
  • Double Strike units: Some double strike units will not attack if they are not positioned as a tank. With the Melee Mayhem ruleset, units like Grund and Coastal Sentry can now attack from any position.

In this battle that I will share with you, I have taken advantage of the Melee Mayhem ruleset by positioning two units with strong melee attacks behind the tank.

Battle Rules

Ruleset:
Melee Mayhem: Melee attack units can attack from any position.
Taking Sides: No neutral units can be used in the battle.

Mana Cap: 99

Active Elements: All

I really wanted to use Arkemis the Bear in this battle, but sadly the "Taking Sides" rule won't allow me because Arkemis is a neutral element unit.

Summoner:

  • Lily Shieldpaw (Level 4)
    • Buffs: Health +1, Camouflage, Triage
    • The main reason I used this summoner is so that I can use Agor Longtail and Djinn Chwala, both Dragon Element units, in battle. Another reason is that I want to hide all of my back units from attackers.

Tank:

  • Agor Longtail (Level 1)
    • Attack: Magic and Melee
    • Abilities: Flying, Taunt, Void Armor
    • This unit has two attacks, magic and melee, which will cause damage to an opponent. I used this unit so that every opponent's attack will be directed to it because of its taunt ability. I am expecting that many melee attacks will miss when attacking this unit because of its flying ability. And because of its void armor ability, magic attack units cannot penetrate its shield.

2nd Position:

  • Djinn Chwala (Level 6)
    • Attack: Melee
    • Abilities: Thorns, Enrage, True Strike
    • I used this unit in the second position to take advantage of the Melee Mayhem ruleset. It has a big melee attack power, a big health pool, and a great shield. If my tank gets defeated, I want a good tank to replace it in the tank position.

3rd Position:

  • Diemon Shark (Level 8)
    • Attack: Magic and Melee
    • Abilities: Trample, Enrage, Retaliate
    • I used this in the third position because it is another melee attack unit with heavy hitting power. It has the trample ability, which will allow it to perform another attack after killing a unit.

4th Position:

  • Bakjira (Level 4)
    • Abilities: Void, Slow, Strengthen, Heal
    • I used this unit because I want to give it an attack using weapons training. It can slow down opponents with its slow ability, give additional health to friendly units, and, in case my first three units get defeated, this unit can hold the tank position because of its big health and healing ability.

5th Position:

  • Daarg Deadblast (Level 1)
    • Abilities: Weapons Training, Speed
    • I used this unit to grant attack to my fourth and last units. It can also improve the speed of my units, giving them the chance to attack first in battle.

6th Position:

  • Merdaali Guardian (Level 8)
    • Abilities: Tank Heal, Repair, Strengthen
    • I used this in the last position so that it can gain an attack from Daarg's weapons training ability. But of course, its main purpose is to heal the tank and repair its armor. It also gives extra health, so now my units have bigger health pools.

The Strategy

I want all of my backliner units to be safe from attacks even if my tank with the taunt ability gets damaged. I don't want them to attack my Merdaali Guardian, which provides support to the tank with its tank heal ability.

I placed units with big armor at the front so that they can be repaired by Merdaali Guardian each round in case my first tank is defeated.

I want enemies to only attack my tank while two strong melee attackers are behind it. I put a healer at the backline so that it can heal and protect my tank each round. I also want to have more health than my opponent's units, so I put not one but two units with the strengthen ability to give them more life.

Battle Rounds

Round 1:
Because of the strong attacks from my units, my opponent's tank was easily defeated. Before the end of the round, the new tank, Coastal Sentry, only had 3 life left.

1.png

Round 2:
Coastal Sentry was defeated and replaced by Chaos Dragon, a legendary Dragon with a strong magic attack and big health.

2.png

Round 3:
My opponent's Chaos Dragon was defeated in the middle of round 3 and was replaced by Nerissa Tridawn, who has a stronger magic attack and also has big health. However, this unit did not last the round; it was defeated before the third round ended.

3.png

Round 4:
Kuju Mastermind is now my opponent's tank. It has a strong melee attack power and big health, but it was finished by Agor with its two attacks. Now there is only one unit left in my opponent's lineup.

4.png

Round 5:
The only remaining unit in my opponent's lineup was Diemon Shark, which was defeated by my Diemon Shark.

Battle Summary

I did not expect my opponent's lineup to fall so easily. The units my opponent used were also strong; it's just that I had support like Merdaali Guardian, which continuously provided healing and repair to my tank, making it stay strong until the end of the battle.
