RE: More players are buying into Splinterlands than ever before

It's incredible that Splinterlands is currently receiving so many players; but we, as players, are being heavily affected by a sudden increase on the price of the cards, mainly on "meta" Bronze/Silver cards.
For example, according to MonsterMarket.io, 2 months ago Mylor Crowling was being sold for 3.12$; 1 month ago for 28.5$. Now it's 50$.

Supply and demand.

The game is designed for the above to happen.

Hopefully in X months someone that joins after you will be quoting todays price while showing a new high price.

That being said the prices will likely scare new players away.
But with new cards coming out this may keep them around and stablize the market.

There's a balancing act between this. It's great that there's more supply and demand, but we don't want to get to a point like Axies, where getting into the game is ludicrously expensive, and we never get new players.

consider also when land activities are going to start.. not only cards all other items, well except potions, prices are jumping up.. I kicked my self for not buying land when it's just 250USD

yeah but that's beginning to feel like ponzi.. hopefully CL will change all that and will give a fair chance for everyone to get good cards by buying packs

That's what happens in an NFT game in crypto. Once the print limit is hit none will ever be produced again! Tough when you are getting in after it all but great when you are in it. You will feel better about it when you are around longer and get access to things that months from now are scarce. That’s just how the game works and how it attracts investors.

Right before the release of the new rewards cards the prices of cards started to drop. Right now negative price action is growing stronger would be interesting to see what happens when Chaos legion cards are released...
