Magalli's "BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!"
New week, new Battle Mage Secrets Challenge!
This week I'll talk about an interesting Rule Set, the Aimless Rule:
This ruleset gives all the Ranged attack Monsters and all the Magic attack Monsters the Scattershot ability:
As we read what the Scattershot ability is we understand that the Taunt ability and the Camouflage ability become useless:
That means that with the Aimless Rule Set, the low-health Monsters will not be protected by the Tanks with the Taunt ability and that Monsters with the Camouflage ability will be targettable, losing their significant advantage.
They will not be targetted by all Monsters, losing in "effectiveness".
They will risk being targeted randomly by Opponent's Monsters, suffering their low-health stat.
So, what type of strategy can help us in an Aimless Rule Set battle?
Well, I selected four Monsters' abilities that can be really useful in these types of battles:
The first ability, the Blast ability is game-changing because if the Monster hits randomly it can focus and damage up to three Opponent's Monsters.
The other three abilities are "defensive" abilities, if the hits are random, you better have a +2 Armor to all your Monsters thanks to the Protect ability and an advantage in Speed stat, thanks to the Slow ability and to the Swiftness ability, to take advantage of difference in Speed.
The Attack Accuracy is always important.
So, now that we have an accurate overview of the Rule Set of the week, let's see the battle:
The perfect Summoner that merges the previously written advantages would have been Kelya Frendul (it gives a +1 buff in Speed and Armor stats)...unfortunately there was another Rule Set with the Aimless one, the Silenced Summoners Rule Set where "Summoners do not give any buffs/debuffs or grant/use abilities. "
But I managed to find my advantages thanks to these Monsters:
The Venari Wavesmith provided the +2 Armor, the Riverboat Captain, an amazing new reward card provided, with the Blast ability, to deal a lot of random damages, and the Baakjira provided to slow down my Opponent's Monsters increasing my Monsters' chances to evade attacks.
Then I completed the team with the Djinn Oshannus to deal damages and two low Mana Cost baits, just to disperse my Opponent's Monsters' attacks.
My Opponent chose the Fire Element Summoner to try to take advantage of the Random Ranged attaks, but as you can see, after the first round my team was practically undamaged.
So my Monsters kept damaging the Opponent's Monsters while they were safe, protected by the armor and able to attack first thanks to Baajkira's ability.
And I won during Round 4, thanks to a triple kill by the Riverboat Captain thanks to its Blast ability.
Final Considerations: the Aimless Rule Set add randomness to the battles, because it makes the Ranged and Magic attacks unpredictable, but as always in Splinterlands, using the right precautions, you will able to win.
