Magalli's "BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!" EXPLOSIVE WEAPONRY
This week's Battle Rule is Explosive Weaponry, a really interesting rule to study:
Firstly we read that all the units gain the Blast ability:
And then we read some really interesting advice, to use Monsters with the Reflection Shield ability:
And it is pretty obvious why we read the advice, Monsters with the Reflection Shield ability don't take damage from the Blast ability.
Personally, I have other strategies that I use with this particular Battle Rule:
- Using Monsters with the Scattershot ability.
- Using Monsters with the Double Strike ability.
- Using Monsters with the Taunt ability.
- Using Monsters with the Protect ability.
- Trying to make my Monsters hit first.
Why the Scattershot ability?
Well, because if thanks to the Scattershot ability one of my Monsters hit an Opponent's Monster in the second lines it could inflict damage to three Monsters at once, and it ignore both the Camouflage and the Taunt abilities.
Why the Double Strike ability?
Well, double hit each turn, double damage to my Opponent's Monsters in the first and the second lines.
Why the Taunt ability?
If I'm able to force my Opponent's Monsters to target only one of mine, I can deploy behind it a Monster with the Reflection Shield ability and absorb all the Blast extra damage.
Why the Protect ability?
A +2 in Armor Stat really helps our Monsters in surviving more Attacks, it can really change the course of a battle.
Why try to hit first?
There are two motivations here, the first one is that if I hit first with all my Monsters, with the Explosive Weaponry Battle Rule there are good chances that I decimate my Opponent's lines before they start to attack me, and the second motivation is that it is a good choice to try to take advantage of the Attack Accuracy, every avoided attack are a lot of damages spared to our Monsters.
P.S. Deploying Monsters with the Shield or Void abilities behind the Tank can be useful to receive less damage in case of a Physical or a Magic attack.
The difficulty is being able to predict the type of attack that will hit the Monster in the first line.
P.P.S. Obviously all the abilities that can hit a Monster in between the Second Lines are useful to try to hit three Monsters at once, like Opportunity and Snipe abilities:
Both those abilities don't ignore the Taunt ability, that's why I prefer the Scattershot ability.
Now that I finished the introduction to this complex ability, let's see my battle:
As you can see I deployed two Monsters with the Double Strike ability, one with the Reflection Shield ability, and one with the Ptotect ability:
So I had the protection given by the Venari Wavesmith and by the Venator Kinjo and I was able to hit my Opponent's Monsters thanks to my two Monsters with the Double Strike ability.
It is important to notice that there were another active Battle Rule:
Thanks to this rule the Drybone Rider was able to hit four times from the second lines!
Furthermore I deployed the Deeplurker and the Hardy Stonefish, the first one thanks to the Opportunity ability was able to target the weakest Opponent's Monster and deal a damage up to three different Monsters with one hit thanks to the Explosive Weaponry rule, the second one was just a bait.
My Opponent tried to take advantage of the Battle Rules deploying in the second position a Monster with the Martyr ability:
As you can see during the second round, its strategy partially worked:
Both its Diemonshark and Djinn Oshannus received an important buff in all the stats, but my Monsters were capable of deal an enormous amount of damages, while they were partially protected by the Venari Wavesmith's protect ability.
And my Monsters closed the match during the third round.
Just an interesting thing, both I and my Opponent chose the Kyla Frendul Summoner, in this case was perfect because it gives a +1 buff in Speed and Armor stat.
Final Considerations: with the Explosive Weaponry Battle Rule the Monsters with the Reflection Shield ability are extremely important because they are able to absorb all the Blast damages, my Venator Kinjo really helped me winning this battle...so remember to always listen to the Splinterland's Team's advice.
