Lira the dark - a super range attacker with Opportunity + Swiftness
What’s up my fellow Splinternerds!
I hope all of you are holding a strong mind and surviving the current scary dip. We were already living with a down market with BTC around 20-21k$ but the current FTX incident has brought a whole new level to it. Last I read is that the Binance CEO has came out of the FTX acquire deal and this, the inevitable dip is taking the market down further and further. Currently the BTC is moving around only 17,816$ per unit with a -12.16% price decrease within the last 7 days and the other dominator ETH is also selling for a way cheaper price of only 1,333$ per unit with a -13.85% price dip. I hope the market recovers soon from this point, because this double dip is making everyone go nuts.
Now looking at my splinterlands season progress, I have successfully reached Diamond I today and currently at 2494 trophies and only about 100 trophies away from my goal of getting into the Champion league. Only 5 days left for this current season to end and I have only collected 25 season chests so far. I guess I will gather another 10-15 season chests before the time ends, but I will give my priority to reach the next league as soon as possible. Because in champ, I will get more points per ranked win and also better rewards from chests. Talking about chests, today I have completed my Daily focus (which was with the Impair rule) with focus 10 chests and got a good bunch of SPS along with 3 cheap common edition reward cards and of course, 17 legendary potions.
LIRA THE DARK
Now, let me move towards the main theme of this post as today, I am going to showcase a very important Chaos card, Lira the Dark. This is an airdropped chaos card and it’s opportunity + swift + Snare ability combo really makes it stand out. I recently bought an old untamed legendary card, the Dragon Jumper and after trying it out with different strategies and splinters, I played this awesome opportunity strategy match that I am about to shared in detail below.
Lira the Dark is a legendary type card that belongs to the Death Splinter. It costs 7 mana to be used in battles and it’s attack type is range. Now, let us look into it’s tier wise stats and abilities at below.
Bronze
At level 1, this card possesses 2 tanged attack at 6 speed with 6 health and also has 2 abilities from it’s initial level - Opportunity and Snare. So you get a strong opportunity card even at bronze level.
Silver
At level 2, this card it’s ranged attack got increased from 2 to 3 with 6 speed and 6 health along with the 2 abilities that I mentioned above.
Gold
At level 3, this card possesses 3 ranged attack at 6 speed with 6 health and also hot another new ability - Swiftness. Now all of your friendly monsters will get +1 speed and attack faster.
Diamond / Champion
At max level, this card increases it’s range attack even further to 4 with 6 speed and 6 health and also has those 3 abilities that I mentioned above.
Market Stat
Currently this card is maintaining a good value in market and single BCXs of this card is starting from 3.50$ which will cost you about 4,327.93 DEC. There is also a max level Lira available at market right now for only 32.6$ and will cost you about 40,311 DEC.

Battle Lineup
COEURL LURKER
I chose the Mighty Coeurl Lurker as the first monster and main defence for my lineup. I used a max level of this legendary card here and it has 5 melee attack at 4 speed with 13 health along with 4 abilities - Taunt, Evade, Phase and Thorns. Because of it’s high 4 speed with evade and Phase combo, it will dodge melee or magic attacks. This card also has the taunt ability by which it attracts all enemy attacks towards it while protecting my other friendly monsters.
CARNAGE TITAN
At the second position, I chose the Carnage Titan mainly because of it’s shield ability and double attack combo. I am using a level 4 here and it has 4 melee attack at 3 speed with 7 armour and 8 health along with 3 abilities - Reach, Double Strike and Shield ability.
QUEEN OF CROWS
I chose my new Rift card Queen of Crows at the third place of my lineup mainly because of it’s Close range, Return fire and Headwinds ability combo. I am using a level 8 in here and it has 3 ranged attack at 3 speed with 13 health along with 4 abilities - Close Range, Headwinds, Slow and Return Fire.
DRAGON JUMPER
I chose my first opportunity attacker the Dragon Jumper at the 4th place of my lineup so that it stays protected for longer. I am using a level 4 in here and it has 5 melee attack at 5 speed with 7 health and 4 abilities - Flying, Opportunity, Snare and Stun.
LIRA THE DARK
I chose my second monster with opportunity attack, Lira the Dark at the fifth position of my lineup and these 2 opportunity monsters will be my main attackers. I am using a level 4 in here and it has 4 ranged attack at 6 speed with 6 health along with 3 abilities - Opportunity, Snare and Swiftness.
NAGA ASSASSIN
At the last position of my lineup, I chose another card with swiftness, Naga Assassin to increase the overall attack speed even further. I am using a level 8 in here and it has 2 ranged attack at 6 speed with 5 health along with 2 abilities - Swiftness and Backfire.
Battle Starts..
As the battle got revealed, I found out that my opponent has also used the same Dragon Summoner Quix the Devious like me, but his lineup was different as heavily focused on ranged attacks. As the first round started and all the buffs and debuffs got applied, my Lira attacked first and wounded the enemy Chaos Agent, followed by the Naga’s attack which damaged the enemy Windeku. Next, my Jumper attacked and killed down the wounded Agent and then, my Queen of Crows and Titan attacked back to back and killed down the Windeku and also damaged the enemy Titan’s armour. But Next, sadly my Coeurl got died after taking the double attacks from the enemy Titan and the first round ended here.
As the second round begins, again my Lora attacked first and this time she targeted the enemy monster Runic and damaged it’s armour a bit. Then, the Naga attacked but it’s 1 range attack was useless against the enemy Shield. Next, my Dragon Jumper attacked and broke down the Armour of that Runic and also applied Stun upon it. Next my Queen of Crows attacked the Titan but it’s 1 range attack, the same happened with Titan. But then my Titan attacked and took down the armour from the enemy Titan, followed by the enemy Raa’s double attack which wounded my Naga. At last, the enemy Titan attacked and it also broke my Titan’s strong armour and the round ended here.
As the third round begins, my Lira attacked again and damaged the enemy Runic’s health down to 4, followed by my Naga’s useless attack. But them, my Jumper attacked and at last, it killed down the Runic and my opponent lost another good attacker from it’s lineup. Next, my Titan attacked and took the enemy Titan’s health down to 4, followed by the enemy Raa’s double attack which damaged both my Queen and Jumper. Then, the enemy Titan attacked at last and also damaged my Titans’s health down to 4 and the round ended here.
At fourth round, 3 of my attackers Lira, Naga and Jumper attacked back to back and finally killed the main defence of the opponent, the Carnage Titan. Next my Queen of Crows and Titan attacked the enemy Queen and damaged her health down to 4.
At the Fifth round, again the three attackers Lira, Naga and Jumper attacked upon the enemy Queen and finally killed her down. The only monster left in the opponent’s lineup was the Raa which also got taken care off by my Queen and Titan and this, I won another great ranked match.
In this match, I tried to make a combo with both the opportunity attackers, Lira the Dark and Dragon Jumper to take out the weak health enemy cards quickly in this match and it looks like it went well with my strategy. While my Coeurl + Titan combo at the front served well as a defensive stance, my 2 opportunity attackers did their job smoothly and my other 2 ranged attackers also helped me with their abilities in this match.

I have seen Lira, and he has caught my attention for when he is in a better league. But frankly, he hoped that the reward cards, at his level, would be more worthwhile. He is not very motivating.
