Splinterlands | COEURL LURKER is still an OG card

avatar

What’s up my fellow Splinterlands players!

I hope all of you are enjoying this beautiful day with your family and friends and for those who are Splinterlands players and engage in the game on a daily basis, I hope all of you are enjoying a good gaming time on Splinterlands while playing the core game or the Soulkeep. In the core gameplay, we are into a fresh new ranked season with only 10 days left for this season to end, so I hope you guys are playing well and collecting more and more SPS and glint tokens while utilizing the battle energy bar.

For me, I am currently playing at Diamond III and possessing a total of 3040 trophies right now. Only 60 more trophies will allow me to enter the next Tier and I will keep going until I enter the next League of Champions, or the season ends and all of our trophies get reset. But having another 10 days, we still have a good chance to reach our goals, be it to enter s certain league or tier or play for the leaderboards. I wish you all well and hope you will be victorious in your quest.

Now moving forward, allow me to talk about another OG monster card with you all today and as you have already seen him in the thumbnail Above, today we will be talking about COEURL LURKER. So without wasting any more time, let us jump right in.

Coeurl Lurker

Coeurl Lurker

COEURL is a monster type card that was launched with the Chaos Legion edition and it is a melee attacking monster. It costs 11 mana to be used in battles, so you can use him well in high mana limit matches or sometimes, as a lone card in small mana matches as well. It is a legendary type card that needs a total of 11 BCX of cards to be upgraded this monster to max level. This card belongs to the Neutral element so you can choose this monster while selecting any of the elements, if allowed by the match rulesets. Because of its EVADE + Thorns ability combo which also gets the Taunt ability on top that attracts all enemy attacks, I love to use this card in battles. Let us now take a further look into this card’s stats and abilities league wise below.

BRONZE

At level 1, this card gets a 4 melee attack at 4 speed with 10 health stats and also gets 2 abilities - Taunt and Evade since its initial level. With the help of the Taunt ability, this monster can redirect all enemy attacks upon it while on the other hand, the Evade ability will increase this card’s chance to dodge enemy melee and ranged attacks.

SILVER

When you upgrade this card to the next level 2, its stats get increased further as it gets 4 melee attacks at 4 speed with an increased 11 health. Not only that, it also gets a new ability at level 2 called Phase. With the help of this new ability, this monster can mow become able to dodge magic attacks with the same chance when being targeted by melee and range monsters.

GOLD

Upon upgrading this card to its next level 3, it receives an increased melee attack of 5 with 4 speed at an increased 12 health. So though it does not get any new ability at this level, its increased attack and health stats will surely benefit him in the battlefield.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when you upgrade this card to its max level of 4, it then possesses 5 melee attacks at 4 health and an increased 13 health. This card does not make us sad when it gets its final ability Thorns at this level. With the help of this ability, you can now do reverse damage whenever getting hit by an enemy melee attacker.

BATTLE STAT

I was playing the ranked matches back to back today and one time, I got this particular match with a large 59 mana limit. There were 3 rulesets applied in this match - Melee only and Healed Out and all the elements were allowed in this match. As we can only use melee monsters here and have a huge amount of mana to spare, So I thought to use the Legendary Water summoner Possibilus the Wise and at my first position, I selected Arkemis the Bear followed by Drybone Raiser, Kulu Mastermind, Deeplurker, Uraeus and Coeurl Lurker at the end position.

The strategy here is to do the heavy attack at front using 2 big monsters and then Use 2 big opportunity attackers and the Uraeus to kill down the low healths or wounded ones and at last position, I used the Coeurl to attract all the enemy melee attacks on it. It will keep those enemy cards busy and giving them reverse damage through Thorns, while my attackers will do their job in peace.

BATTLE PERFORMANCE

As both the lineups got revealed, I found out that my opponent has used the Legendary Dragon summoner Quix the Devious with water cards and at his front, he chose the Mantaroth followed by Carnage Titan, Deeplurker, Venka the Vile, Kulu Mastermind and Coeurl at the end position. So basically, we both have used Coeurl to taunt enemy attacks and his attackers are also very strong, so let’s see who win this match. As the first round begins, both the enemy cards Venka and Kulu attacked my Coeurl and decreased its health down to 8, followed by the Deeplurker’s attack which drips it down further to 4. But then my Kulu attacked the enemy coeurl, followed by the Titan who wounded my Bear. My Deeplurker and Uraeus also attacked the enemy Coeurl and wounded it down to 3 health and applied poison on it as well.

At 2nd round, both the enemy Venka and Kulu missed their attacks in my Coeurl, but finally the Deeplurker didn't and killed down my Coeurl while receiving some thorns damage. My Kulu then instantly took the revenge by killing sown the enemy Coeurl. At round 3, my bear got dead and Raider came at front, My Kulu also killed down the enemy Mantaroth followed by my Deeplurker who killed down the enemy Deeplurker and also wounded Venka next by trampling. As the match continues, my monsters killed down the enemy cards one by one and Finally I win this match.
