Splinterlands - My top 3 common Gladius cards
What’s up my fellow splinterlands warriors!
I hope you all have enjoyed an awesome weekend with your family and friends and are now back to your work. For those who are daily players in this game, do not forget to play your daily missions and utilise your daily energies after stacking SPS and collect reward chests as we have already crossed more than halfway of this ongoing season and only 6 days and a couple of hours left for this ranked season to end. I hope most of you are already playing with your best and for those who got heavily dependent on bots, I would suggest them to start practising again cause both the active proposals on splinterlands about banning bots and battle helpers are about to pass. Anyways, for me, I am as usual playing in the Diamond League and currently battling at the Diamond I tier with a current trophy count of 3,912. One thing I can definitely say is that the complexity at this top level has been reduced by a bit and I am winning more matches myself than the last one and I guess the reduction of bot usage in ranked matches is probably responsible for this. Frankly speaking, if splinterlands find any practical way to ban all public and private bot usage, the old fun will come back once again as am feeling right now. But about battle helpers, I don't think it can be banned by them as the official team already discussed in Discord that there’s literally no way to ban using spreadsheets right? Lol but anyways, banning bots in the game will be a big step and will surely encourage human players to join even more from now on.
Now, moving forward to the main theme of this post as today, I am about to discuss my top 3 Gladius common type cards. Gladius cards are becoming super important in this game to have as not only they can be used in brawl matches but with the recent updates and introduction of new rulesets, they can be used in ranked matches and tournaments as well. One cool thing about these Gladius edition cards is that they can’t be bought with money! Yes, if you are new to this game, gladius cards can be gathered by only opening gladius packs and gladius packs can be only bought using merits points. We can get merit points mainly by playing brawls and also from daily focus and season chests in the game. But unlike other edition cards, gladius cards can’t be transferred, bought or sold in the market or via p2p and the only way to acquire them is via opening more and more gladius packs. So over money, playing the game actually matters here more and hence players get an advantage here. Daily players like me who regularly participate in brawls and also play ranked matches on a daily basis collect merits over time and buy gladius packs with them where each gladius pack costs 2000 merits. Just recently, I completed saving a big amount of merits and with over 100k merits in my wallet, I used them to buy 54 gladius packs and opened them all at once and got tons of gladius cards, which I shared in one of my recent posts. However, as I just finished publishing my series of top 3 soul-bound reward cards of each card type from common to legendary recently, so today, I thought to start writing another such series on my favourite gladius cards and in today’s post, I will be sharing my top 3 choices in common type gladius cards. So without further ado, let us continue..
CHIMNEY WALLSTOP
The first Gladius card that I would Like to showcase is the Chimney Wallstop. I find the name quite funny, but don't make a mistake by thinking the monster is funny as well, cause this card is one of the furious attackers in Gladius edition. This common card belongs to the Fire Splinter and it costs a whopping 10 mana to be used in battles. It is a melee attack type card and its high overall stat makes it usable as both a defensive and offensive monster.
At max level, this card possesses 6 melee attacks at 3 speeds at 4 armour with 9 health along with 4 abilities - Reach, Bloodlust, Repair and Strengthen. Among the 4 of them, I really like the Repair + Strengthen ability as both of them help all my friendly monsters in a battle. While the repair ability, it repairs broken armours of any 1 friendly monster every round and with the strengthen ability, it gives more max health to all of my friendly monsters which certainly makes the whole lineup more defensive. However, I have only a level 6 of this monster so far but because of it’s high mana cost, I only use this card in high mana matches and sometimes in medium mana limit matches.
ISGALD VORST
The second monster in my common type Gladius series would be Isgald Vorst. Unlike the previous monster, this one costs only 5 mana to be used in battles, so you can easily choose this in a wide range of mana limit matches from medium to large. This monster belongs to the Water Splinter and its attack type is melee as well. The best thing about this monster is its defensive stat with a mix of armour + health along with a high melee attack combed with opportunity ability.
At max level, this monster gets a high 5 melee attack at 5 speed with 4 armour and 6 health along with 3 abilities - Bloodlust, Opportunity and Piercing. I really like its opportunity + piercing combo because it will attack the enemy monster with the lowest health and with the piercing ability, it gets easier for it to lill down armoured monsters as well and hence, it always has a chance of unlocking and increasing its bloodlust ability. However, I have a level 6 of this monster currently and hope I get enough BCX soon to upgrade this card at least to goal level.
WITCH OF WARWICK
The last common type of Gladius card that I will be showcasing today is none other than the Witch of Warwick. I am a lover of magic monsters and really like this monster personally and try to use this often in brawls or gold level tournaments. This monster belongs to the Death splinter and it costs 5 mana to be used in battles. It is a magic attack type card, so unlike melee or ranged attack type cards, this card’s attacks cant be evaded unless the opponent is using Phase ability cards. So this card will successfully hit and kill more which will help it to unlock and stack its Bloodlust ability faster.
When you upgrade this gladius card at max level, it will possess 2 magic attack at 4 speed with 5 health along with 4 abilities - Life Leech, Bloodlust, Affliction and Poison. Because of its Life Leech ability, it will gain health each time it hits an enemy and as its attack type is magic, it will hit the enemy monster almost every time so expect it to enlarge its health gradually as the match lasts. On top of it, its affliction ability if applied will revoke enemy cards to het healed up and the poison will damage the enemy card 2 health each round if applied. So overall, I would say it is a deadly card, so don't get carried away by its innocent look at all! However, I only have a level 6 of this card and hoping to get more BCX to upgrade this soon as well.
I hope you liked my top 3 choices of common type Gladius cards in this post and now it's your turn to tell me if you also want to stay by my choice or have your own different top 3 choices. If yes, then please let me know about it in the comments below and I will be seeing you all in my next post.
Wish you all good luck on all of your future Splinterlands matches.

I believe Isgald Vorst is probably the top choice for many!
Another card that I love to use would be Katrelba Gobson from the Earth Splinter 😊
Gobson is a killer card no doubt, its double strike is very helpful!
Yeah it’s quite deadly especially after the bloodlust boost when opponent get caught off guard with their weak backline 😅
I would also choose the first two but replace the Witch with Katrelba Gobson. Still, great cards all!
I also love Gobson very much, just that I use witch a bit more 😅 thanks for visiting
