Splinterlands Art Contest Week 222 -- Whistling Damon

Good afternoon my dearest community of card game lovers, welcome once again to my blog, today I come to share what would be my last participation for the weekly dynamics of #Splinterlands; this time I wanted to go a little more towards the theme of forests and characters of that style and that is why I chose for my participation the card of (Whistling Damon) which is a skilled and stealthy archer who is a specialist in long distance assassination missions with the help of his powerful arrows:

Buenas tardes mi queridísima comunidad de amantes de los juegos de cartas, sean bienvenidos una vez mas a mi blog, el día de hoy les vengo a compartir lo que seria mi ultima participación para la dinámica semanal de #Splinterlands; esta vez quise irme un poco más hacia la temática de los bosques y personajes de ese estilo y es por ello que elegí para mi participación la carta de (Whistling Damon) el cual es un hábil y sigiloso arquero el cual es especialista en misiones de asesinatos a larga distancia con la ayuda de sus poderosas flechas:

PROCESS / PROCESO

The main thing for my drawing was to create the archer making use of his powerful weapon (Bow and Arrow) and for this I chose to draw him preparing his bow, I decided to create the character with a great musculature and with a quite confident look as you would expect from an expert like him. The choice of colors was very simple, this is a character with a brown skin and fortunately in the past I have created many characters with this skin tone and therefore I have saved the appropriate colors in my personal color palette; try to give the skin a slightly lighter appearance than that of the letter so it would have a more personalized touch to my drawing.

Lo principal para mi dibujo era el crear al arquero haciendo use de su poderosa arma (Arco y Flecha) y para ello opte por dibujarlo preparando su arco, decidí crear el personaje con una gran musculatura y con una mirada bastante confiada como se esperaría de un experto como él. La elección de colores muy sencilla, este es un personaje de una piel morena y afortunadamente en el pasado he creado muchos personajes con esta tonalidad de piel y por ello tengo guardados los colores adecuados en mi paleta de colores personal; trate de darle a la piel una apariencia ligeramente mas clara que la de la carta pues así tendría un toque más personalizado mi dibujo.

I decided to work the skin of the character with the intention of a slightly more mature appearance, that is to say as if he had an age between 30 and 40 years; for this work I had to make use of many brushes of irregular tip and some of square tip to create certain wrinkles in the face. After finishing with the skin I went to the next step which was the painting of the eyes, for the iris I knew that I would use a lot of green color; I also focused on painting the eyes a little bit closed to print a little more cold and determined personality to (Whistling Damon).

Decidí trabajar la piel del personaje con la intensión de una apariencia un poco mas madura, es decir como si tuviera una edad entre los 30 y 40 años; para este trabajo tuve que hacer uso de muchos pinceles de punta irregular y algunos de punta cuadrada para crear ciertas arrugas en el rostro. Después de terminar con la piel pase al siguiente paso que era el del pintado de los ojos, para el iris sabía que usaría mucho el color verde; también me centre en pintar los ojos un poco entre cerrados para imprimirle un poco más de personalidad fría y determinada a (Whistling Damon).

The next step in the process of my drawing was the painting of the clothes and suit of (Whistling Damon), being a suit with many parts and sections I had to work each one separately and dedicating to each one its respective time, for the lower part of the suit I used a very intense blue and tried to create a kind of tight suit. After the suit I moved on to what would be the cape or tunic that the character wears over it, for this I used many green colors with long and wavy brushstrokes in certain areas; to this section I tried to give it a little more texture and relief than the lower part and that's why it was where I spent more time painting.

El siguiente paso en el proceso de mi dibujo fue el pintado de las ropas y traje de (Whistling Damon), al ser un traje con muchas partes y secciones tuve que trabajar cada una por separado y dedicándola a cada una su respectivo tiempo, para la parte baja del traje use un azul muy intenso y trate de crear una especie de traje ajustado. Después del traje me pase a lo que seria la capa o túnica que lleva el personaje sobre él, para esto use muchos colores verdes con pinceladas larga y onduladas en ciertas zonas; a esta sección trate de darle un poco mas de textura y relieve que los de la parte baja y por ello fue donde más me tarde pintando

The hair I decided to paint with brown tones a little chocolate and with long strokes, this because I wanted the hair of the character to be so long that it could protrude a little by the neck and out of the tunic that covers it. Finishing with the hair the following was the painting of the bow, for it I used many dark brown tones and some with tendency to reddish tones to build a shiny and polished wood that gave more visibility to the weapon; with the arrow I did something similar but with lighter tones, this so that it was seen a little difference between both parts of the weapon.

El cabello decidí pintarlo con tonos marrones un poco chocolatosos y con trazos largos, esto pues quería que el pelo del personaje fuera tan largo que lograra sobresalir un poco por el cuello y hacia afuera de la túnica que lo cubre. Terminando con el cabello lo siguiente fue el pintado del arco, para ello use muchos tonos marrones oscuros y algunos con tendencia a los tonos rojizos para construir una madera brillante y pulida que diera mas vistosidad al arma; con la flecha hice algo similar pero con tonos más claros, esto para que se viera un poco diferencia entre ambas partes del arma.

Finally I painted the scenery, I have a lot of experience in painting dense forests and so I created some trees close together, with a big tree much closer than the others and right behind (Whistling Damon) which our archer uses to hide and cover himself from his enemies; I tried to paint a lot of loose leaves on the top to go with the trees and cover the forest a little more, and finally I painted a ray of sunlight descending on it.

Finalmente me dedique al pintado del escenario, tengo bastante experiencia ya en el pintado de bosques tupidos y por ello me dedique a crear algunos arboles bastante juntos, con un gran árbol mucho más cercano que los demás y justo detrás de (Whistling Damon) el cual usa nuestro arquero para ocultarse y cubrirse de sus enemigos; trate de pintar muchas hojas sueltas en la parte alta para acompañar a los arboles y cubrir un poco mas el bosque, y finalmente pinte un rayo de luz solar descendente sobre él.
