Splinterlands Art Contest Week 302 | Vampire Bat Queen 🦇

Happy Thursday my dear readers, your friend Manuel greets you and I am very happy to share with you a new drawing for my artistic blog. I had already several days a little absent here since I have been full busy with work and other responsibilities, but I did not want to end this week without sharing an illustration which I started last week and this is my latest entry for the weekly dynamic of my dear people of the #Splinterlands community; this time I decided to choose a creature called (VAMPIRE BAT) to make a kind of adaptation to human style of those that I like to illustrate, keeping a great dark and bloody essence as I transmitted the letter of this character in the game.

Feliz jueves mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras, por aquí los saluda su amigo Manuel super feliz de poder compartirles un nuevo dibujo para mi blog artístico. Tenía ya varios días un poco ausente por aquí ya que he estado full ocupado con trabajo y otras responsabilidades, pero no quería terminar esta semana sin compartirles una ilustración la cual comencé desde la semana pasada y se trata de mi más reciente entrada para la dinámica semanal de mi querida gente de la comunidad de #Splinterlands; en esta ocasión decidí elegir una criatura llamada (VAMPIRE BAT) para hacer una especie de adaptación a estilo humano de las que tanto me gusta ilustrar, manteniendo una gran esencia oscura y sangrienta tal cual como me transmitía la carta de este personaje del juego.

As it would be an adaptation of the character (VAMPIRE BAT) I took a little more freedom and let my imagination be the one to guide me, the idea was to create a beautiful Vampire woman with a very elegant and at the same time full intimidating demeanor; another thing that occurred to me to add was 2 huge bat wings wide open behind her back as if she was preparing to fly through the skies. I started the coloring using brown tones somewhat opaque and grayish because usually vampires have a very faded skin and with very little life, what I did was to apply the airbrush subtly to create the volume in the arms, face, neck and others and then with flat brushes to define well the features and of course the shadows and lights.

Como sería una adaptación del personaje (VAMPIRE BAT) me tome un poco mas de libertad y deje que mi imaginación fuese la que me guiase, la idea era crear una hermosa mujer Vampira con un porte muy elegante y al mismo tiempo full intimidante; otra cosa que se me ocurrió agregarle fue unas 2 enormes alas de murciélago bien abiertas a sus espaldas como si se preparase para volar por los cielos. Empecé el coloreado usando tonalidades marrones un tanto opacas y grisáceas ya que por lo general los vampiros poseen una piel muy descolorida y con muy poca vida, lo que hice fue ir aplicando el aerógrafo sutilmente para ir creando el volumen en los brazos, rostro, cuello y demás y luego con pinceles planos ir definiendo bien los rasgos y por supuesto las sombras y luces.

Although my intention was to create a fairly opaque skin, I still gave a little coloring or blush to the cheeks with airbrush which I then blurred to blend more naturally with the skin, and with the skin completely finished the next step was the construction of the eyes, Here I opted for the reddish tones because usually vampires and bats have full bloody and intense eyes, and with the lips I focused more on creating the fangs of a fairly large size so that they could be noticed coming out from the upper lip. In the 3rd step I painted the hair with dark brown tones, my intention is that the character looks quite mysterious and I thought that these tones would be appropriate, I was forming the relief of the hair with locks gathered towards the back of his head with light yellow and orange locks that gave a good volume.

A pesar de que mi intención era crear una piel bastante opaca aun así le di un poco de colorido o rubor a las mejillas con aerógrafo el cual luego difumine para mezclar mas naturalmente con la piel, ya con la piel totalmente terminada el siguiente paso fue la construcción de los ojos, aquí si me decante por las tonalidades rojizas ya que por lo general los vampiros y murciélagos tienen ojos full sangrientos e intensos, y con los labios me enfoque mas en crear los colmillos de un tamaño bastante grande para que se notasen saliendo desde el labio superior. En el 3er paso realicé el pintado del cabello con tonos marrones oscuros, mi intención es que el personaje se viese bastante misterioso y me pareció que estos tonos serian los adecuados, fui formando el relieve del pelo con mechones recogidos hacia la parte de atrás de su cabeza con ligeros mechones amarillos y naranjas que dieran un buen volumen.

Creating the dress was perhaps the most complicated part, since this would be an adaptation of a creature that does not wear any clothes, so I had to invent something to my imagination, and what I came up with was to create a dress with a subtle neckline on the chest and sleeves open from the elbow area, I was creating the base of the dress with brushes of rough texture and blurring subtly, then with brushes a little louder I was shaping a new layer of textures so that they were coupling on the others and some folds were formed in the clothes. Something that occurred to me after finishing the dress was to add a small pattern like orange rose petals that would give a more personalized and unique touch to my character, as well as some small glitters on the edges due to the ambient light.

Crear la vestimenta fue quizá lo mas complicado ya que como esta seria una adaptación de una criatura que no porta nada de ropa, pues debía ingeniármelas y inventar algo a mi imaginación, y lo que se me ocurrió fue crear un vestido con un sutil escote en el pecho y las mangas abiertas desde la zona de los codos, fui creando la base del vestido con pinceles de textura rugosa y difuminando sutilmente, luego con pinceles un poco más ruidosos fui plasmando una nueva capa de texturas para que se fueran acoplando sobre las otras y se formaran algunos pliegues en la ropa. Algo que se me ocurrió luego de terminar el vestido fue agregar un pequeño patrón como de pétalos de rosa de color naranjas que le darían un toque mas personalizado y único a mi personaje, además de unos pequeños brillos en los bordes producto de la luz ambiental.

For the painting of the wings I played with some dark purple tones for the base while I was forming a little curved volume to give the idea that the bat wings are slightly bent forward; something very important for the wings to have the right realism was to create a little reddish coloring in the middle and lower the opacity a little because usually in this area the skin of the wings is thinner and the light passes through them. For the final part I only had to do the background, here I chose to paint something very gloomy and it occurred to me to create a forest plane towards the background covered by several trees and bushes while the moon just in the background illuminated the whole bloody night; then as additional details I painted some murcielas flying just in the background to better represent the essence of the main character and I also illuminated a little bit his eyes.

Para el pintado de las alas jugué con algunos tonos morados oscuros para la base mientras iba formando un poco de volumen curvo para dar la idea de que las alas de murciélago están levemente dobladas hacia adelante; algo muy importante para que las alas tuviesen el realismo adecuado fui crear un poco de colorido rojizo en le medio y bajar un poco la opacidad ya que por lo general en esta zona la piel de las alas es mas delgada y la luz traspasa a través de ellas. Para la parte final solo que me quedaba por hacer el fondo, aquí opte por pintar algo muy lúgubre y se me ocurrió crear un plano de bosque hacia el fondo cubierto por varios arboles y arbustos mientras la luna justo en el fondo iluminaba toda la noche sangrienta; luego como detalles adicionales pinte algunos múrcielas volando justo en el fondo para representar mejor la esencia del personaje principal y además ilumine un poco sus ojos.
