Unbound Rewards Market

The sales of unbound reward cards have started and my first impression for the prices of these cards are reasonable because the are priced about the same to other legacy reward cards.

It’s nice to see regular legendary at 1 bcx is still under 8k DEC. This will also have lower buy in rate for gold foil legendaries.

Epics are all under 1k DEC at current value is a good sight to see. I have a couple desired epics to level up so will be focusing in this group of cards to purchase.

Rares are even less in cost per bcx which makes sense. Still there are plenty of rares to buy myself to actually max some of my remaining rares.

Commons are little over 50 DEC which means I can get a few every week until cards are locked forever.

Overall when we compare latest unbound reward cards base value they are significantly less than legacy reward cards. This implies that when we purchase any unbound card we essentially trade at a loss. Whether the value of the card would rise in the future is uncertain but immediate trade of buying high and selling low is not seating well with me.

In the years since Splinterland’s evaluations had peaked we have only seen it trend down. Especially for the value of cards as it has made legacy cards less valuable due to its lack of utilization for return in value and how newer cards can easily overpower the legacy.

I come to find that it’s difficult to believe buying and holding unbound cards would be profitable unless the player is very active. This does not bold well for long term investing as we would not know exact timeline when these unbound cards will be surpassed by other newer cards.

I know I may sound pessimistic but I am on the side of being active as much as possible therefore will be buying unbound cards along the way. How this pans out remains to be seen.
