Another week has passed in my challenge to owning a complete Chaos Legion Regular Foil Set and Land, and I will closely monitor and transparently share all details about the challenge in these posts.

Owning a Complete Chaos Legion Regular Foil Set and Land – Update 13

Looking back over the past week, Zyriel, the first dual-element unit monster card, has been released, and as predicted by many – it's an expensive card. A single BCX card will set you back $41, or purchasing a max-level card will set you back $450. While it would be nice to have a single copy, I don't think it's a priority, especially as the funds can be better utilized in purchasing Land assets. I'll leave this one for the whales. Also, the latest splinterlands proposal has generated a lot of buzz about banning bots from competing in Modern League. At the current stage, the proposal will be passed. And that is the intention of decentralization whereby you give the power to the users of the ecosystem and let them vote and decide on matters. The topic of bots in the splinterlands ecosystem has been debated for years, so it will be interesting to see how this will affect many facets of the game, from card prices to rewards.

Land Funds

The Land fund budget continues to grow as the past week was the season's end but also the month's end. Another $23 was added to the Land fund budget. My usual month-end process is to consolidate all splinterlands earnings and either sell to SPS, Hive, or HBD. For the challenge, I am consolidating all funds into HBD and then putting it into HBD savings, earning a 20% savings rate.

Also, I continue to work my way through the whitepaper to understand more and more about it, but to be honest, its quite tricky to quantify some aspects of it without having the gameplay functionality in front of me, and I am not sure the time I am spending on theory crafting is a good use of time. Nonetheless, I aim to complete reading the whitepaper over the next week.

Land Prices

The Last asset prices continue their negative trend, as portrayed in the week-by-week land prices. Apart from Castle, all other Land assets have decreased in price in the past week. I am uncertain whether the market is still trying to guage a proper floor price for these assets or whether its just the general crypto bear market sentiment that continues to bleed over into splinterlands (e.g. card prices continue to decline as well). Nonetheless, on the one hand, I am glad that I am patiently waiting on the sidelines because, at this rate, I can purchase a couple of pieces of Land assets if the prices continue to decline. I am theorizing, but when Land is released, and the tokenomics of the Land asset productions goes live, and we start being able to quantify everything around Land asset, I do think there will be an uptick in prices as more and more people will want to get involved. Not financial advice, and your mileage may vary depending on your goals.
