Prismologist Weekly Battle Challenge | Splinterlands #233
This week’s battle challenge focuses on the Prismologist.
Card Details
A Chaos Legion edition epic level monster from the Life unit at level 2:
- Estimated cost: $3.70
- Range attack: 3
- Speed: 2
- Health: 5
- Armor: 2
- Blast ability - Does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster.
Prismologists are skilled practitioners of light-based magic using prisms. They train at the Peace of Light Monastery and must craft their prism to become full-fledged members of the Spectrum Prism group. The Prismologist is a top-tier card with many positives: good range damage, decent health, armor, and potent Blast ability. However, it's worth noting that being a Prismologist does come with a cost. You'll have a high mana cost, which means you cannot deploy in all battles without handicapping yourself. Despite this limitation, it is a top-tier card, and the market price reflects this.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
I will always showcase a battle where I have triumphed over the OG and OP Yodin Zaku. The opposition went all ranged damage, which worked in my favor thanks to Grandmaster Rathe's +1 armor buff applied to all friendly monsters. My strategy was simple: Shieldbearer as the primary tank proccing its Taunt ability and, therefore, the focus of damage from the opposition. This allowed the backline to do its thing and unleash its range assault. The Prismologist was also a key player in the battle, using its high-range damage to take out several enemies. It's always satisfying to emerge victorious in a battle, especially against a formidable opponent like the OG and OP Yodin Zaku.
Do you like the Prismologist? Why or why not?
The Prismologist is a strong and versatile monster with various abilities that can be effective in multiple battle scenarios. As always with battle challenges, I like to look for alternatives to the monster in focus for the battle challenge. There are only two monsters with Blast ability and armor; Goblin Tower (level 1) and Chaos Dragon (level 2). Both are relatively cheap, so it's worth having all three to augment your splinterlands collection. Whether or not you find them appealing may depend on your playstyle and preferences.
