Splinterlands: Recent News & Updates (8/26/2021)

300,000 Active Card Rentals

Renting out your cards is worth more than ever
Card holders are now making over $22,000 every day in combined revenue from the thousands of players eager to access their cards. This annualizes to more than $8,000,000 that our renters will make in one year, if numbers remain stagnant. Renting is a great option for those who have grander card collections than they have free time with which to battle, and offers passive income with a very limited ongoing time commitment.

300,000 Registered Accounts!

It took Splinterlands 30 months to reach 50,000 accounts. Then 7 more months after that Splinterlands account creation reached 100,000. Onwards to 150,000 users in just 1 month following that. Then in the following week after that, 200,000 users. Another week saw Splinterlands reach 250,000 registered accounts. On 8/01/2021 user account creations hit 300,000+.

100,000 Splinterlands Spellbooks Purchased

Reaching Benchmarks at Unprecedented Speeds. It took Splinterlands over four years to sell the first 50,000 Splinterlands Spellbooks. Now, in just fifteen days, that number has doubled.

The August Spellbook purchase rate is now over 40%, meaning that this month more than 2 out of every 5 new player accounts decided that Splinterlands is too good to pass up. The past five days have seen an average buy-in rate of nearly 50%, which is just astounding.

Quest Potion Update

Splinterlands has immediately suspending the ability to purchase Quest potions with Credits. Under normal circumstances Splinterlands would give as much notice as possible before making a change like this, however due to the nature of this issue Splinterlands felt that the change needed to take place right away.

No changes will be made to Quest potions that have already been purchased and are in players' accounts. The only change is that future Quest potions may only be purchased with DEC tokens and not with Credits.

All these numbers are fantastic! I think @aggroed's prediction/expectation in the last week's AMA that we will have 1 million active users by Christmas is looking more probable every day. That many users will create a huge demand for cards. They are going to need to release a lot of booster card packs and reward cards to satisfy all that demand.

Its an interesting time. It must be hard for the DEV's of Splinterlands to decide on what number of new boosters to release. If the growth continues we will need allot. If a correction happens we could be stuck in the CL edition for months more then expected.

I kind of like the idea of too few CL packs, it would cause the price of the new cards to skyrocket along with all the older cards. But I don't like the idea that they will all disappear before I can build a good deck with them. And maybe squirrel away a few packs for a rainy day.
