Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! I'm back to participate in the @Splinterlands art contest and for this, I took as reference the Helios Matriarch card. It's a character that I loved since I saw her, so I wanted to draw her this time for the contest. Obviously I did only the face, since I've been doing half a body in the last drawings I've done, so this time I only decided to go for the face.

Hola gente bonita! Espero estén super bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! Vuelvo a participar en el concurso de arte de @Splinterlands y para ello, tome como referencia la carta de Helios Matriarch. Es un personaje que me encanto desde que la vi, así que quise dibujarla esta vez para el concurso. Evidentemente hice solamente el rostro, ya que he venido haciendo medio cuerpo en los últimos dibujos que he hecho, así que esta vez solo decidí irme por el rostro.

I started making the sketch in one layer, adding all those elements that I could integrate at first sight of the original character. As I mostly do faces and portraits, this one was very easy for me to structure the whole drawing itself, so I didn't struggle at all to have the whole sketch of the character ready. One of the things I always enjoy doing after having structured the sketch, is working on the line art, I relax so much doing it, that if it were up to me, I would do all my work with line art and a couple of shadows, almost like a stylized sketch.

Comencé haciendo el boceto en una capa. agregando todos aquellos elementos que pudiera integrar a primera vista del personaje original. Como mayormente lo que suelo hacer son rostros y retratos, este se me hizo muy fácil estructurar todo el dibujo en sí, así que para nada batalle en tener todo el boceto listo del personaje. Una de las cosas que siempre disfruto hacer después de haber estructurado el boceto, es trabajar el line art, me relajo tanto haciéndolo, que si por mi fuese, haría todos mis trabajos con line art y con un par de sombras, casi como un boceto estilizado.

Once I have all the line art ready, I do all the color work. I start adding a base color in the whole drawing, and then I continue with all the details in the drawing. I used as a base color a super light pink, almost gray. This pink, would be the color of the skin of the character and from there, I will start adding the other colors throughout the drawing. I must say that this time I wanted to go for a color palette with tones a little different from the original, since I am looking for color palettes that I can use in my drawings and that have in a certain way, my stamp or personal style.

Una vez que tengo todo el line art listo, paso a hacer todo el trabajo de color. Comienzo agregando un color base en todo el dibujo, para luego seguir con todos los detalles en el mismo. Use como color base un rosa super claro, casi tirando a gris. Este rosa, seria el color de la piel del personaje y de ahí, partirá a agregar los demás colores en todo el dibujo. Debo decir que esta vez quise irme por una paleta de color con tonos un poco diferentes a la original, ya que ando buscando paletas de color que pueda usar en mis dibujos y que tengan de cierto modo, mi sello o estilo personal.

Adding the other colors in the drawing, I was trying other techniques and tips that I have acquired watching my favorite artists and the truth is that they have helped me a lot, because something with which I have always struggled a lot, is with the issue of making the hair and lately is what I like to do so much, as in this work. It has really been a drawing that in terms of color work, I have not spent hours and hours working on it, which makes me feel good, because I feel and see that every time I work in a faster and more agile way, without falling into the fact of doing something wrong or meaningless.

Agregando los demás colores en el dibujo, fui probando otras técnicas y consejos que he adquirido viendo a mis artistas favoritos y la verdad me han servido de mucho, ya que algo con lo que yo siempre he batallado mucho, es con el tema de hacer el cabello y últimamente es lo que me esta gustando tanto hacer, como en este trabajo. Realmente ha sido un dibujo que en cuanto al trabajo de color, no me ha llegado horas y horas en trabajarlo, lo cual me hace sentir bien, porque siento y veo que cada vez trabajo de una forma más rápida y agilizada, sin caer en el hecho de hacer algo mal hecho o sin sentido.

As I always tell you, my drawings always follow the same process, which is; sketch, color and details. That's why I don't usually talk much about the process itself, because I feel it's the same and very repetitive in every drawing I share and I prefer to talk about something else that is a little more relevant hehehe. I loved this drawing very much and seeing in detail, how much it has changed my drawing style.

Como siempre les digo, mis dibujos siempre llevan el mismo proceso, el cual es; boceto, color y detalles. Por eso no suelo hablar mucho del proceso en sí, ya que siento que es lo mismo y muy repetitivo en cada dibujo que comparto y prefiero hablar de otra cosa que sea un poco mas relevante jejeje. Este dibujo me encanto muchísimo y viendo detalladamente, cuanto a cambiado mi estilo de dibujo.
