The Superpowers of the Flying and Dodge Abilities in one Monster

Hello there, happy new week and welcome to another season I'll be sharing my experiences with Splinterlands battle game to help guide newbies who are trying to navigate their way through the game like I did months ago. I lost touch with the game at some point since I did not have a spellbook but I am happy that I now have it and have no restrictions to all parts of the splinterlands game.

I was trying to engage a splinterlands battle and due to my liking for a particular card I just rented, PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS and due to my manna cap limitations, I ended up picking just two monsters. Their appearance in the battle ground got me frightened when I saw the enemy monsters.

I doubted my monsters could barely survive two rounds of the battle. I actually lost the second monster in the first round and I lost hope that PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS would fight alone to the end.

But the unexpected happened... We won!

I was interested to watch and re watch the battle as many times as possible to see what engineered our win. I noticed that there were so many attack against PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS that was missed. After the battle, I decided to look more deeply on the character 'PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS" and discovered the superpowers of the combined Flying and Dodge Abilities it possesses.

PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS is a splinterlands card from the Untamed card set. The card has only four levels. At level one, it is marked with 1 manna cap, 3 magic attack, 6 speed, 7 health, a flying and dodge abilities. The demoralize ability is added at level 3 and headwinds ability is added at level 4. The version of card I used had only the flying and dodge abilities.

Flying Ability in Splinterlands character

A splinterlands character with flying ability has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
When a monster with the Flying ability is being targeted, the attacking monster's attack accuracy is reduced by 25% and this happens only if the attacking monster is not flying.

Dodge Ability in Splinterlands character

A splinterlands character with dodge ability has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks. When a monster with the Dodge ability is being targeted, the attacking monster's attack accuracy is reduced by 25%.

With the description of the flying and dodge abilities above, it means that a splinterlands character with flying and dodge ability has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks more accurately. When a monster with the Flying and Dodge ability is being targeted, the attacking monster's attack accuracy is reduced by 50% (that is 25% for flying ability and 25% for dodge ability).

The battle lasted for Nine rounds and PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS missed 20 attacks. That was a really powerful outing.

With that, I have come to understand that some abilities can be powerful but will become more powerful when combined with another complementing ability. Flying and dodge abilities combined in one monster for a battle is a super-powerful experience.
