Moving... .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 190

avatar

I know that from the outside it looks like I'm lazy Hivian as I have created only 2 posts in a week, but this September is one of the busiest months ever! So many things changed (and will change) and so many things happened, that I'm not even aware of everything... All that resulted in my lack of posting and engagement on HIVE, despite going to HiveFest! Well, that was one of the BIG things that happened in September, which took 7 days of the month...

What about the rest of the month? Well, unfortunately, after coming back from the HiveFest, I got flu (or something that looks like it), which held me in bed for 5-6 days... :( Luckily, a few days ago, I got better and I could finally stand on my feet and do things... But, you already know about these things if you were checking some of my latest posts...

What you maybe don't know is that I will change my place of living in October! I mentioned a month (or two) ago, that my landlord announced a rent raise of 20% from November, which is way too big a difference for me... As continuing renting for that price wasn't acceptable, we (my wife and I) have decided to try to find a different living place... Last year we were searching the area for renting another apartment, but we didn't find anything that was better/cheaper than our current apartment... The area where we live is a high-tourist and because of high demand, renting (and buying) prices went through the roof!

The irony was that the solution to pay LESS was to BUY an apartment! Of course, not in the area where I am, but a bit more inland... So, we went for a "home hunt" in late June, and from then, we were searching a wide(r) area, checking for acceptable options... Just a few days BEFORE the HiveFest, we found and "reserved" the apartment which is a 1-hour drive from our place... When I came back from HF, we closed the deal and bought our first home ever!!! As it is an older apartment, there are things to fix, and clean, and we slowly moving our things by car... As we were living in a furnished apartment, we didn't have too big pieces of furniture, so we could move by car (in many turns 😃)...

Currently, we are "living" in 2 homes, going back and forth during the week, which takes time and energy... I would say that the "worst" is behind us, and things should be better in October, and we should be 100% operational from our new home in November! I'm very excited by the fact that I will have an office again (after 13 years), which should give me more peace to do my online stuff... Dedicate more time to Hive, and probably more time for the #HHHLive show, or some new collaborations...

In the end, after being pissed off at my landlord for raising the rent back in May, I'm glad that he did it as that caused something good to happen! That pushed me over the edge to finally get something my own, and not throw money through the window!

Back to the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...

This week we have mined 96 BEE tokens in total...

We didn't get any new members this week, but we got some new delegations from existing members of the pool! Thanks guys! Appreciate your support!

This week we mined 96 BEE tokens in total!!!

This POOL doesn't have fees and you get up to 20% MORE by delegating to it!

What about the bonus tokens?

The SPS token (Splintershards token, by Splinterlands) had a nice run from the beginning of August until a week ago... The price doubled from $0.004 to over $0.008, which was a few days ago... The truth is that, until August, the price was in a downtrend for a long time... Anyway, it's nice to see that we had some positive movements up... Will the price continue to soar up or not, I don't know and I can't tell you... But, creeping up for 2 months is a good sign that the game still has potential and everything is possible... Not financial advice!

There will be distributed 225 SPS tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

Screenshot from 2024-09-30 21-10-23.png

As always, in the end, let's give the exact numbers for this week... 96 BEE tokens and 225 SPS tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 6.712%, and when we added the bonus it went up to 8.126%!

I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens at the moment of creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price...

Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter and we will find the best solution for both parties...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week you will get your portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!

.:. DO NOT STAKE TOKENS TO MY ACCOUNT!!! Just DELEGATE! .:.

My brother rented an apartment in Scotland for many years, justifying himself by the freedom to change his city of residence at any time.
But when he gave one apartment to the landlord, he decided to buy the property.
Does he pay £1000 rent to someone else or monthly installments for his flat. After 15 years he has his own property.

I am glad that you have decided to invest in your property.
Good luck!

PS. You will have space for an office. Will there be one piano room? 😉

justifying himself by the freedom to change his city of residence at any time.

I heard that many times and I have to admit that I used the same "excuse" to myself... The rest of what you shared is the "right view"... If you can, buy your property, rent it, and live wherever you want... you will still have freedom, but you will have something yours to come back in need... 🙂

Will there be one piano room? 😉

You guessed well! There will be one piano room too!!!

Thanks a lot for your kind words and wishes!

Congratulations on getting your new home. Down here too the prices for a renting houses has also gone up, I pray to also get to the level where I can also buy my own home. Congratulations once again to you and your wife.

Don't know how is at your place, but here, renting prices went crazy, when even sale prices didn't follow... That's how we get in the position to be cheaper to buy than rent!

I pray to also get to the level where I can also buy my own home.

I hope you will get it there! Having your own home makes you calmer about the future... at least you will have a roof over your head...
Stay focused on your goal, and you will make it! 💪

Thanks a lot for your comment and wishes!

You are right about that... We kept our focus on this for a long time... I would say from the moment of moved to Spain, which means over a decade!

It sounds like an interesting way to buy your first home. Since it's an apartment, do you have to lease some of the rooms out to people or are you only paying for the living space that you are in?

Thanks for running the pool and for the BEE/SPS tokens.

Currently, I'm renting a whole apartment where I live with my family... And the other one, we bought the whole apartment, so it is all ours... No leasing, just a relatively "small" bank loan for paying it...

When we bought our apartment it also cost less than renting it. If you need to move in the future you can rent it and with that you pay the other rent, or sell it and get your money back.

In a certain way, your landlord did you a favour. These months will be crazy, moving is very stressful. But it's worth it, you will have a more comfortable space and the feeling that it is your real home.

An hour from your current home? Tell me it's closer, plissss. 🙏

Yeah, those "anomalies" happen occasionally, and that happened to us now... So, buying was an option to "save money"... And I agree with you about renting 100%! It was just a lame excuse to think that renting (without owning anything) is giving you some kind of freedom... It's just an illusion... The way that you described is the best way to do it!!!

Hahahahah... As we are moving toward the other side, but a bit inland, when I run Google Maps to see the distance from you, it is a 1-minute car drive closer by car than our current place... 😃 So, no improvements there... 😀

Oh, no, one minute closer is one minute of improvement, ok? Be positive!! 🤣🤣

Well compared to your usual activity, you have been less active, but two posts a week is not a bad thing either, I think that commitment has many faces and above all, health is always the most important thing.

our first home ever!!!

That sounds amazing, what a joy and pride to confirm that good things happen to good people over time. Congratulations, a space of your own makes our mind feel safer and that will help you a lot to stay calm. Really, this is great, I hope that soon all the work of moving and arrangements will be over and you will be able to get time to rest peacefully.

Thank you! It is true, it gives peace of mind! That was one of the points to do it and to save all these years to be able to get there!

Really, this is great, I hope that soon all the work of moving and arrangements will be over and you will be able to get time to rest peacefully.

... and we will be able to receive some guests as the apartment is much bigger than our current one!!! We will not be at the seaside, but it's not that far... Prepare your luggage! 😃

I'm looking forward how productive you will be with one room just for yourself. I couldn't imagine doing everything I'm doing in the living room... I'm sure it's a change for the better and I will you all the best in your new place!

Not sure how productive I will be, but it should be better than it is now... Sometimes, it is very hard to focus when I would work from the living room... I mean, I don't have a huge family, but a lot of distractions kill the focus... 😂

Lets hope for the best... 😃

I believe it can only be better than now. I can concentrate when the tv is on for example so just the fact that you have a quite environment is worth gold I believe :-)

Yeah... Life kicks us in the butt to make tough decisions... This time, I'm grateful that it happened, as if not, I would probably prolong the decision and did nothing...

Thanks!!!
