Ruleset
- Fog of War, monster loses the Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity abilities:
- Sneak ability, targets the last Monster on the enemy team instead of the first Monsters.
- Snipe ability, targets enemy monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.
- Opportunity ability, monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.
- Lost Legendaries: can not use the Legendary monsters.
- Briar Patch, all monsters have Thorns ability.
- Thorn ability, every time a melee monster attacks the enemy will receive 2 damage back (monster without Shield ability, if have Shield ability will take 1 damage) .
- mana cap.
- can use elements Fire, Water, Life, Death, and Dragon.
My Lineup and strategy
In this battle, we decided to use melee attacks even though we would be hit by a backlash due to the Briar Patch ruleset. In battles with the Fog of War ruleset, apart from the Scattershot ability (an attack that randomly attacks enemy units) then all attacks will be aimed at the monster in the first position unless the enemy brings a unit with the **Taunt ability **. For this reason, we chose the Water element which has the strongest front attack / very large damage. To ensure that our attackers in the front position can survive long enough from enemy attacks, the Water element also has a unit with the ability Taunt so that most of the enemy's attacks will attack this monster.
This is my lineup :
Summoner or monster | Abilities | Description |
---|---|---|
Diemonshark, 1st position, attacker and tanker. Has the Ability Trample, Enrage, and Retaliate. | This monster has high HP, armor, and good speed, suitable to become a tanker. With high armor it will negate some of the Briar Patch damage *Enrage ability and will increase the damage and speed which is already high enough, to activate the Enrage ability of the monster it's HP needs to be decreased. The Retaliate ability is a good ability when facing the melee monster it has a chance of 50% that this monster will counterattack the attacker. Trample's ability is the same ability as our summoner. | |
Coastal Sentry, 2nd position, Attacker and 2nd tanker. Has the ability Double Strike, Piercing and Knock Out. | Has very high damage. With Double Strike this monster will attack twice each round giving 5 damage each attack for a total of 10 damage with the Piercing ability if the attack by this monster hits the armor and destroys it, then the remaining damage will hit the HP make this monster easier to kill the enemy. Usually, this monster only attacks from the first position, but because of the summoner Possibilus it can attack from 2nd position, this monster does not have a strong defense/ability, against many attackers will die quickly, so I put it behind our tanker. The last ability this unit has is Knock Out ability, with this ability if the enemy is hit by the Stun effect this monster will do double damage. In this battle we will bring monster with Stun ability hope can inflicted the Stun status in the enemy monster. | |
Scavo Hireling, 3rd position, support, have the ability Repair, Camouflage, and Slow. | This monster's main job is to restore/repair the armored monster in the first and second positions to negate some effect of the Thorn ability, prolonging the life of our attacker. Slow ability will decrease all enemy speed to -1 this is an important support ability when using the summoner Possibilus who lacks of Speed buff. This monster only can be attacked by the enemy if moves to the first position because have Camouflage ability. | |
Merdaali Guardian, 4th position, support, has the ability Tank Heal, Repair, and Strengthen. | We use this monster to increase the survival of the tanker, it Heal our monster HP in the first position and restores the monster armor that has the highest damage. The Strengthen ability will increase all of the ally monster HP to +1. I put it here to make it safe from front and back attacks. This monster weakness it can't attack. | |
Igor Darkspear, 5th position, attacker, has the ability Stun. | Have good range damage of 3, and the ability to Stun the enemy, this ability will support the Knock Out ruleset, although the success rate to inflict upon the enemy while attacking is only 50% if the enemy got stunned it will skip the turn for 1 round. | |
Wave Brood, 6th position, attacker and tanker. Has the ability Taunt, Close Range, Void, and Return Fire. | We need this monster's Taunt ability that ensures that enemy monsters will attack this monster if they can, this will increase the survival rate of our monster in the first position because almost all enemies will attack this monster temporarily. Although Wave Brood is a ranged attacker, its Close Range ability will make this monster can attack from the first position. The Void ability will decrease the enemy magic attack damage by 50%. Wave Brood Return Fire ability will reflect the range attack and give +2 damage to the attacker. |
Our Formation is finished and we are ready to battle :
Did your Strategy Work?
Our strategy went well, the enemy avoided using melee monsters and only used Tide Bitter melee monsters which have the Reflecton Shield ability so they are immune to the Thorn effect. Our attack provides a surprise to the enemy who is not ready to receive such a large melee attack in the front direction so that we can easily kill the enemies in front one by one:
With the help of 2 supports Merdaali Guardian and Scavo Hireling, our melee monster Diemonshark survived until the end. Unfortunately, the two support monsters did not restore the armor from Coastal Sentry, because the amount of armor that was prioritized for restoration belonged to Diemonshark the highest armor lost unit.
