Tanker Who Depend On The Speed - Fog of War Ruleset


Hello everyone, today I will make a post again about the Splinterlands contest Battle Mage Secrets Challenge. This Week's Theme is Fog of War ruleset.

I play in the Modern Format Diamond League, using my scholar account from Balthazar I only use cheap cards like Chaos, Reward, and some Neutral.

Ruleset

  • Fog of War, monster loses the Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity abilities:
    • Sneak ability, targets the last Monster on the enemy team instead of the first Monsters.
    • Snipe ability, targets enemy monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.
    • Opportunity ability, monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.
  • Wands Out, only monster with magic damage can be use in this battle.

  • mana cap.
  • can use elements Fire, Earth, Life, Death, and Dragon.

My Lineup and strategy

Because only monsters with magic attacks are allowed and the Fog of War ruleset, you can be sure that all monsters will attack the enemy monster in the first position, or if there are monsters with the Taunt ability, some will attack that monster.
In this battle, we decided to use a summoner from the Dragon element, because it has a magic unit that with its speed and ability can avoid magic attacks, with the second element Life, so we can use monsters with Taunt and Martyr abilities to boost the stats of our monsters.

This is my lineup :

Quick the Devious, Summoner. Can decrease enemy monster speed and range damage by -1We used this Dragon summoner because it increases the chance for our monster to attack first, and evade the enemy attack by reducing the enemy's speed by -1. We need this buff for our tanker. Besides that, we can use the second element Life which has a useful monster with the Taunt ability.
Void Dragon, 1st position, attacker, and tanker. Has Flying, Void, and Phase AbilitiesWe use this unit because can evade magic attacks (Phase ability) with high speed and has the Flying ability which increases the evading chance by 25%. and Void ability will decrease the magic damage by 50% which is very useful in this battle.
Iziar 2nd position, attacker and tanker. Has the ability Taunt, Void, and Martyr abilityPlaced in the 2nd position so the enemy damage can be split with the monster in the first position (Void Dragon as first monster), and we want if this monster die the Martyr ability boost all stats of Void Dragon and Djinn Renova by 1. This monster has a Taunt ability, which makes all enemy if can attack this monster. Has the Void ability same as the Void Dragon ability so it's strong against an enemy with a magic attack. Apart from that, this monster has a large HP, the enemy will need time to kill this monster we just hope our tanker in the first position can handle the enemy in the first position.
Djinn Renova, 3rd position, attacker and support. Has the ability Strengthen and TriagePlaced in 3rd position as a backup tanker to protect our monster behind, and to Heal Iziar. The Strengthen ability she has is another good ability that gives all friendly monsters +1 HP.
Spirit Hoarder. 4th position, attacker and support. Has Triage, Dispel, and blind abilitiesTriage ability can heal monsters not in the first position (Iziar and other). The Dispel ability can erase the effect of the buff from the enemy monster in the first position. Put this in here because this monster has low speed and HP is easy to die. We need this Blind ability, which will increase the chance for Void Dragon to evade the enemy attack by 15%.
Temporal Master, 5th position, attacker and tanker. Has the Ability Recharge and Stun.We use this monster because we don't have any more good magic monsters to use :). This monster will attack once every 2 rounds with damage equal to 3x normal damage, and there is also a chance of stunning the enemy by 50%.
Adelade Brightwing, 6th position, attacker and support, has the ability Flying, Repair, Resurrect, Immunity, and Swiftness.Placed in the 6th position the safest position in this battle this will be the last monster to die. This monster has Immunity ability which ignores the Poison effect. Flying ability same ability as Void Dragon. The Resurrect ability which is very useful for reviving our monster Iziar, we use this monster to double the effect/stat boost of the Martyr ability. The ability Swiftness will help all our monsters to get a +1 speed boost so can increase the chance to attack first, evade the enemy attack, and hit the enemy. Repair ability restoring the ally armor with the most damage, although in this battle is not useful because all monsters do not have armor/Void armor.

Did your Strategy Work?

Our strategy not effective, the enemy countered our strategy because they put Regal Peryton in first position with a higher speed than our monster. Even with the help of the Blind ability, 95 percent or more of enemy attacks will hit the Void Dragon. We don't have a healer who can restore HP from Void Dragon while the damage from Regal Peryton is greater than Void Dragon. If we lose Void Dragon then Iziar will advance to the first position so that no one can restore their HP again.
Fortunately, The enemy Mycelic Slipspawn who had the Taunt ability, we managed to kill him in the 4th round thanks to the Temporal Master attack, which gave 4 damage in the 2nd and 4th rounds, even though it was only an additional monster, it turns out that this monster determine our victory this time. With the death of Mycelic Slipspawn all our monsters can focus on attacking enemy monsters in the first position:

In the 5th round Void Dragon died and was revived by Adelade Brightwing but finally died again a second time because it was attacked by the enemy monster Blackmoor Nymph which has Snare ability that can disable Flying ability and when attacking a monster with the Flying ability cannot miss.

So in this battle, our Void Dragon only functions as a tanker which reduces magic damage by 50% because of the Void ability, its ability to avoid magic attacks doesn't work.

If the enemy brings Goblin Psychic there is a possibility that we will lose because Goblin Psychic can heal the monster in the first position and also reduce all enemy magic damage by 1:
