Splinterland's: Are you optimizing your deck?
Splinterland's: Are you optimizing your deck?
We all know that creating a nice Splinterland's deck is not cheap at all in current times. And if you are deciding to build a deck on your "Play2Earn" earnings then you should be very clear of your targets and most importantly the level of deck you are aiming at.
There is no reason that you aim for max deck when your "play2earn" income + available resources clearly show that it will be almost impossible to reach there.
Go step by step with balanced deck.
Even you get idea that what level you can target, I will still say go there step by step and using balanced deck approach.
When I say step by step it means you will be levelling up summoner only 1 level up and when you level up that summoner then you level up the cards too instead of hurrying up to the directly level 4 for that summoner and jumping to the level 4 of next summoner. Under Balanced approach you keep your deck balanced for that league too, You keep upgrading a summoner and it's cards to a same level before you start upgrading to next level.
Why you should go step by step.
When you look at the cards level, you will find that cost of upgrading to a level is not linear at all, higher the level you go, cost is much more then the cost of upgrading to it as compared to the previous level. So directly trying to reach that level might end up in very unbalanced deck and you might suffer in winning the matches in your league.
Step by step transition allow you to understand the game mechanics better and make you prepared with level of difficulty and change in tactics in game as game progress.
Pitfalls on step by step approach.
Now it very much depend that which deck you are trying to build, Step by step will work nicely as you will be building Chaos legion deck and Chaos legion cards will be offered in sale and you will get plenty of level 1 cards to upgrade.
But if you look at beta or untamed editions (forget the alpha) it might be too difficult to get level 1 cards but might be easier to get levelled up cards. Even if level 1 cards are available .their price per BCX might be too high.
Secondly, at each level card gains new abilities, so it might be possible that card "A" is more useful/strong at particular level then card "B" might have changed equation at higher level.
Eye on market and some liquid cash is a great way.
Anyways, whatever you are trying to follow for building your deck, keeping a constant eye on market and having some liquid cash for buying the cards whenever they are cheap is a great idea.
A trade off "some" expensive card for a more "utility" card.
A constant vigil on stats of card and finding it's cheap alternative is also a good way. For example a level 6 ,Flesh golem might cost around $500 but a level 6 PELACOR MERCENARY cost only $22 for level 6 and stats of both cards looks comparable and but there is a big price difference on both level 6 cards.

I think that's the best way to go about building one's deck instead of spreading allover the show.
So far it's the approach I have implemented and it looks to be working just fine.
