Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Common Cards Stole The Show!

Time flies! Just completed the 145th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I made the decision to move back to a Bronze level fray, which is where my cards are at. It proved to a good decision but I was back to winning form!

Had 6 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 7th!!

So for the final result, we were 7th out of 9 guilds and got 538 Merits and around 12 SPS! A whole bag of SPS! Let down by participation once more! :(

Individually, I had 6 fights this time and I won all 6 of them this time! Finished 1st within the guild! Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there were 2 additional wins for me.

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Kotriphus Bayne

This was a routine battle as I tried to my team as much as possible to take advantage of the high 53 mana quota. Kotriphus Bayne had a fine fight getting all the Bloodlust by chance but it was Night Ghoul whose Taunt ability ensured the rest of the team was protected.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

A perfect 6-0 win over here! It was not an easy feat considering my opponent fielded a strong lineup. However, it was once again down to the choice of tank and Ulundin Overseer over here was exceptionally strong.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

This was a near death situation. My opponent fielded a max Bronze deck for this battle and my lineup was in danger right from the start as I misjudged the Fury ruleset by fielding a Taunt card. It was a race against time but with Swamp Spitter's Repair ability, my hits went through faster and that absolutely saved me from what was supposed to be a defeat. Definitely the best performance by Swamp Spitter to date!

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

This was a tricky battle as I tried to make use double Martyr boosts from Astral Entity's Resurrection, but it allowed my opponent to gain two easy Bloodlusts. In the end, it was down to both boosted cards to fight one vs one, and Pelacor Deceiver emerged victorious! What a relief!

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Ajax Lightfoot

Finally I had chance to take a breather after back to back close battles. My damage output this time was stronger and it was enough to overpower my opponent, thanks to Double Strike and Blast cards.

And we got a free win to round off the perfect brawl! Opponent fled!

So that sums up my 6 battles for this brawl! 100% win rate! Woohoo!
