Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - The Only Way Is Up!

Time flies! Just completed the 164th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I made the decision to move back to a Bronze level fray, which is where my cards are at. It proved to a good decision but I was back to winning form!

Had 6 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 6th!!

So for the final result, we were 6th out of 10 guilds and got 431 Merits and around 11 SPS! A whole bag of SPS! Decent finish but was let down my participation as well. Sometimes I wonder how many people are playing Splinterlands these days. I guess the only way is up!

Individually, I had 6 fights this time and I won just 4 of them this time! Finished 3rd within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there was 3 additional wins for me.

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

A tricky low mana battle with Blast and Earthquake. I fielded two Flying cards but unfortunately, one turn separated both teams and I was on the losing side. Not much I could have done in this case.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Larissa Kerato

What a brilliant win this was! Both teams were strong but I achieved a perfect 6-0 win on this. Larissa Kerato was the MVP by far, smashing all the big hits against the opposing team.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

A tricky ruleset in this battle, featuring Equaliser and Back To Basics together. I had one card more and that meant 8 more HP to survive the rounds. That basically was the main difference as both teams' damage output were pretty similar. MVP goes to Goblin Psychic for dealing the best damage I guess.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Flagulon Reine

Another perfect win for this round! Djinn Oshannus did well as the tank against Magic cards and allowed my backline to deal hits effectively with Opportunity and Blast. Been a while since Djinn Oshannus featured in a nice win. And in case you are wondering who's that summoner, it's Kelya Frendul by the way. In a Halloween costume. Haha.

Battle 5 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Orella Abadon

My Level 1 lineup was badly outfought in this battle. I thought it would have a strong lineup led by Tarsa together with a full team on Melee cards, but my opponent had the same thought and his cards were of a higher level. No chance for me in this one. Interesting name though, Hairy Botter. Haha.

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Trapp Falloway

Despite being of a lower level for my cards, I actually pulled off a win in this one. Our cards were very similar and both teams had Trapp Falloway, but it was the placement of the Gladius card that made the difference. I got a instant Bloodlust in the first round and was comfortable throughout the rest of the battle. Nice way to end off this brawl.

So that sums up my 6 battles for this brawl! 67% win rate this time round! Not too bad, but always room for improvement!
