Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Unlucky This Time

Time flies! Just completed the 166th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I made the decision to move back to a Bronze level fray, which is where my cards are at. It proved to a good decision but I was back to winning form!

Had 6 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 5th!!

So for the final result, we were 5th out of 9 guilds and got 485 Merits and around 14 SPS! A whole bag of SPS! Decent finish but was let down my participation as well. Sometimes I wonder how many people are playing Splinterlands these days.

Individually, I had 6 fights this time and I won 4 of them this time! Finished 4th within the guild. Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. For this round, there was 2 additional wins for me.

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

What a big clash! Both teams put out very strong teams for this mega 99 mana battle and true to the ruleset, there were a lot of Flying cards on the board as well. Somehow, even though the teams were quite evenly matched, I won this comfortably with half my team still alive at the very end, and this was largely due to great summoner Astral Entity!

Battle 2 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Liza Fox

The opposing Marisol Contuma was just too strong in this fight. I fielded a decent team for this team, and tried my best to take full advantage of the ruleset, but it wasn't enough in this case.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

This was the model answer for a 14 mana battle. Venari Marksrat gets Rebirth from ruleset and Resurrect from Astral Entity, boosting Pelacor Deceiver with Martyr for a total of 3 times. This meant Pelacor Deceiver start off the battle with 5 Melee damage and 11 HP. Totally unbeatable. Haha.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie

This 99 mana battle was over in 2 rounds! My opponent only fielded 3 cards and even though they had the dreaded Quora Towershead, it was never going to be enough to handle a team with 6 attackers. Very comfortable win over here.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Gorth and Orella Abadon

Perfect win over here. Two Gladius cards definitely made the difference and the opposing Chimney Wallstop was never going to pose any difficulty for Gorth. Gorth is just one of the best 1v1 cards to have for brawl battles.

Battle 6 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

Ahhh this was a narrow loss. Forgotten One missed a crucial hit despite having 4 speed and we had to settle for a loss here. Extremely rare to loss Poison battles with Forgotten One, and it was a little of bad luck over here.

So that sums up my 6 battles for this brawl! 67% win rate this time round! Not too bad, but always room for improvement!

Review Of Gladius Cards

The Merits are coming in fast and I have enough Merits for my 66th Gladius case! Nothing to see here, almost the minimum set of the cards. Still no Quora Towershead. Oh well.
