Those of you who been playing Splinterlands since its creation might know exactly what my title entails. For those who have forgotten or might not know the Monster Trainer Early Bird was the name of one of the many packages the First Ever Splinterlands Kickstarter had on offer for the earliest of investors. Here today I'm going to go over the contents of that package and show current USD values of those contents. The Early Bird package orginal cost was $200.

Monster Trainer Early Bird

110 Alpha Booster Packs$ 48,870

No your eyes do not deceive you. Yes those are real numbers and real returns on an early Splinterlands investment that cost $200 USD. To be fair the Royal Dragon Archer Gold that is listed for $100,000 USD is unlikely to sell in todays market. So even if we ignore the $100,000 mark up for the Gold Royal Dragon we are still left with a grand total of $50,519.61 USD worth of value.

For me the most shocking value here is the Alpha Boosters that are currently selling for $444+. These Alpha boosters orginally had a base value of $2 USD and for the savvy investor could of been attained for less then $2 USD. That is one amazing price increase in just three years. Congrats to Splinterlands and a big Congrats to anyone who managed to hold Alpha Boosters as an investment.

The Story

The Prophecy states "that which was Splintered shall be made whole."

The world was once a whole and complete floating world where all monsters and summoners lived together with one sun and six moons, but nearly a thousand years ago there was a cataclysm and the world Splintered. Each Splinter has since been doing their best to survive and regroup. Some work to make the world whole, some believe it never was whole, and others work to keep it torn apart. Recently, a plague has been affecting monsters and summoners from all the Splinters called "The Burn".

There are 6 Splinters, each with their own sets of summoners, monsters, customs, talents, and drawbacks. There's a backstory to the land itself and we're working on a hundred+ page campaign guide to show everyone, in astonishing detail, what the world looks like in the Splinterlands.

There's music that's been crafted for this game too. When my six-year-old daughter said, "It sounds like adventure!" I knew we'd hit the mark. This helps set the stage for all the stories we tell and have yet to write.

Each and every card in the game will have custom backstories, as well. Learn how Zintar Mortalis became a summoner for the Dark Eternals when he siphoned all life around him to keep his son alive. Feel the pain of the Twisted Jester as he stalks the lands looking for Lord Rotchild who murdered his wife and children and left him for dead. Look at your child's face as they see young Talia send jets of fire from her hands to burn off the gelatinous cube threatening her pregnant mom and big sister. Feel the heat of the fire beetles endlessly carrying the sparkstone.

We're more than a game; we are a collection of rich stories detailing compelling characters in heroic action.

This is the Kickstarter reward I got. I can't believe the prices of the Royal Dragon Archer! Sadly, I sold my Gold Foil a couple years ago when card prices were depressed. As for the Alpha Booster packs, I opened them the day I got them.

I got the $50 package and at the time of purchase told myself this is all I will be spending on this game. ......... That was a lie :) Most my investments were done during BETA release.

Lol! Same here. I ended up buying 500 Beta packs. My only big investment during Alpha was the $200 Kickstarter and the $5 started pack. I did buy a lot of single Alpha cards along the way.

Go Splinters!

I got into the game when there were only Beta card packs and my biggest regret is not discovering Splinterlands sooner.... Whoever bought and kept the Alpha card packs made a great investment. When I have a pack of cards I can't keep it closed....

This is how limited supply works, specially with an increasing demand.

That's some amazing gains, I vaguely remember seeing something about splinterlands way before I got in to it, could have been the kickstarter for sure.

Now I could complain how I regret it and should have discovered it before. But who says I would have stuck with it and made the right decisions of holding and building it up?

If anything I'm glad I'm involved now and a few months before the recent craze, who knows what's to come and looking back in a few years we might feel we were early enough anyway

I still feel as if anyone joining today is still early to the show. Land hasn't been implemented. New boosters are about to be introduced. The rental market has just been officially introduced on the Splinterlands site. The SPS token was just introduced. There's so much that is just starting.....
