Splinterlands - Moving Up The Leagues

First of all, this game is really hard for beginners. I moved up and managed to enter the Bronze 2 but keep going in and out of that league for almost two weeks. Because of that, I didn't get to earn any DEC from my battle. At one point, I was down to Novice because I keep losing battles constantly. I was disappointed but the game still fun to play, so I keep playing.

Then I managed to go into the Bronze 2 league again and staying there until now. I finally get the hang of it and found out some ways to stay in that league. One way is to get a better cards or monsters to stay competitive because in Bronze 2, the battle is more complicated due to the rules and restrictions imposed randomly in each battle. This make the game more challenging and tricky.

One good way to get better cards is to rent from others. This way, you don't have spend to much DEC than buying the cards. Although buying cards will have more benefits than renting but at this low league, renting will suffice. This is also important to increase your power which is one of the two requirements to move up into a higher leagues.

Renting will add the card's power but once the renting period is over, the amount of power from that cards will be deducted. While buying cards will add the power to your decks permanently unless you decided to sell or rent that card out.

One of my battle that earned me some DEC

In Bronze 2, you will be able to earn DEC every time you win the battle. At first you won't be able to earn much. I remember when I won my first battle in this league, I only earned less than 0.1 DEC but now, I earn more than that per battle. That is a good thing because as you go up, you will earn more.

Now, I'm stuck at Bronze 2 because I don't have enough power to unlock Bronze 1. I can foresee that this will take a longer time as it will need more cards to rent or buy to increase the power. I did managed to increased my collection but it is still not enough as it needs 5000 power to unlock Bronze 1.

Some tips for beginners to go up to Bronze 2:

  1. Rent some better cards to increase your chances to win the battle.
  2. Rent some higher tier or higher level cards to increase your power. These cards might not be useful for battle because the level of summoners you currently have will not allowed you to use higher level cards.
  3. Buy some cards if you have extra HIVE or DEC. These cards will benefit you in the long run as you can sell or rent it out to earn extra DEC.
  4. Master at least three Elements, rent or buy the cards based on those elements and your play style or strategy.
  5. Try to rent low mana but high damage monster. Preferably those with sneak, opportunity and reach ability. You can also get the card with high speed but normally these cards have either low health or low damage. The perks is, monster with high speed will get to attack first.

Lastly, here are my recommendations for cards to rent or buy to get you into the Bronze 2:

From those cards, you probably know that I'm focusing on using Earth a lot.
