My Favorite Strategy in Battles with Counterspell and Wands Out Rulesets | Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge

Hello everyone, Welcome to my Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge post. In this post, I will talk about my favorite strategy in battles with Counterspell and Wands Out rulesets, as well as an amazing battle. I hope it will be useful for you.

In battles with the Wands Out ruleset, only Monsters with Magic attack may be used. In battles with the Counterspell ruleset, all Monsters have the Magic Reflect ability. And when Monsters with the Magic Reflect Ability are hit by a Magic Attack, does half the Magic damage (rounded up) back to the attacker.

In battles where only Monsters with Magic Attack can be used and all Monsters have the Magic Reflect Ability, I can say that I can win the vast majority of battles with my favorite strategy when I can use Immortalis Summoner. Let's examine it in the battle below.

Battle Ruleset

  • Counterspell: All Monsters have the Magic Reflect ability.
  • Wands Out: Only Monsters with Magic attack may be used in battles.
  • Holy Protection: All Monsters have the Divine Shield ability.

Magic Reflect ability : When hit with Magic damage, does half the Magic damage (rounded up) back to the attacker.
Divine Shield ability : The first time this Unit takes damage it is ignored.

My Strategy

According to the ruleset of the battle, all Monsters in this battle will have the Magic Reflect Ability and the Divine Shield Ability, and only Monsters with Magic attack will be available.

In such battles, I choose Immortalis as the summoner without hesitation because Immortalis gives all friendly Monsters Void Ability and Shatter Ability and reduces the health of all enemy Monsters by 1. In particular, Void Ability is very useful in these types of battles, as Void Ability reduces damage from magic attacks by 50%.

Magic Attack Monsters with the Void Ability take less damage from both Magic Attacks and Magic Reflect. And in these types of battles I especially prefer Monsters with 2 or less Magic Attack because when they have the Void Ability they take no damage from Magic Reflect (if the opposing team does not have the Amplify Ability). And I include the Amplify Ability in my lineup. I also included the Tank Heal Ability in my lineup to prevent the Monster in the first position from being easily destroyed.

Magic Reflect Ability and Amplify Ability is a very useful combo against magic attacks, as when hit with Magic damage, Magic Reflect does half the Magic damage (rounded up) back to the attacker, while Amplify Ability increases Magic Reflect damage to the attacker by 1. And considering that all the Monsters on my team will have Void Ability in the battle, all the magic attack monsters on the opposing team will suffer greatly. That's why this is my favorite strategy in this type of battle.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Round 1

Since all Monsters have the Divine Shield Ability, Monsters on the opposing team did not receive much damage in the first round, but the second round will be a painful round for them. However, in the second round, Nerissa Tridawn took serious damage because it was in the first position and at the end of the round it only had 1 health left. It was also noteworthy that when Nerissa Tridawn hit Mycelic Slipspawn, it dealt 2 damage to it while taking 3 damage back.

Round 2

The second round was a painful round for the Monsters on the opposing team, but the Triage Ability restored Magi of Chaos' health but will only allow it to survive for one more round. In the second round, while Nerissa Tridawn and Spirit Hoarder were destroyed on the opposing team, all the monsters on my team were still alive, and the most interesting thing was that the health of the ones in the backline was the same as when they started the battle.

Round 3

Although Djinn Oshannus' Void Ability made it harder to destroy, it was also helpless against my strategy. In the third round, no Monsters were destroyed, but the next round would be more devastating for the opposing team.

Round 4

In the fourth round, Djinn Oshannus and Magi of Chaos were also destroyed and my team managed to win the battle quite easily against a powerful team.

The battle lasted only 4 rounds and at the end of the battle, all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed while all the monsters on my team were still alive and most interestingly, the monsters in the backline of the team did not take any damage in such a battle. My strategy worked pretty well in this battle, it's actually a strategy that works really well in this type of battle, so it's my favorite.

It is not easy to defeat this strategy in such battles, but there is no strategy that cannot be defeated. The fact that all Monsters on the opposing team have the Void Ability and the opposing player's lineup includes abilities such as Affliction and Poison in addition to the Amplify ability can ruin my strategy. That's why I included Affliction Ability in my lineup, and I would have loved to include Poison Ability in my lineup, but unfortunately I don't have such a card in Earth and Neutral units. I can also say that using Void Armor and Repair abilities together can be very useful against this strategy. That's why I don't like to see such abilities on the opposing team in these types of battles because they can disrupt my strategy.
