Splinterlands Tourneys

I admit that posting has been a lazy feeling lately as I put all my focus on playing splinterlands daily.

I recently clocked 6k sps which I posted about on my X page; even though I would have liked to talk about it more with a social media entry last week I didn’t get the time to do that.

Today I am putting forth an entry into the engagement challenge. I will probably talk about my sps haul in my next splinterlands social media entry. So let’s get into it.

I think for me what makes me enjoy playing spl and in fact motivates me to play everyday is that fact that I win sps per win. It’s part of the motivations and that’s why I make time for it everyday.

There are numerous ways of earning sps on splinterlands and one of them is through tournaments. I was first introduced to splinterlands tournaments by a streamer on twitch. At that time he hosted tournaments and all participants had to join his stream to be able to participate. The funny thing is that I stumbled on his channel and watched his stream for sometime. I was so confused cause I didn’t understand that aspect and of spl so it took some time before I could understand all what they were doing.

So splinterlands tournamets are a bit different from the normal battles we engage in everyday on spl. With tournaments you know who you are facing and at times things get tweaked by the sponsor of the tournaments. There are different types of tournaments on splinterlands.

In the past there were some tournaments which required a few to enter and some didn’t require a fee but for sometime now it has changed. I’ve noticed that for every tournament you’ll need to pay an upfront fee in Dec to be able to enter.

On splinterlands each tournaments has its set of rules. There are some that you might qualify for and there are some which you won’t qualify for due to tournament rules.

To access tournaments on spl you first of all need to hover your mouse pointer at the play sign on your top left corner. A drop down menu appears where you can simply click on tournaments and it takes you directly to the tournament page.

Now at the tournament page you notice different types of tabs. The first tap which is the upcoming tab shows you the games which are yet to be played. When you click on it a drop down many pops up which gives you the chance to click and see the tournaments which are in progress, tournaments which have been completed, tournaments which have been cancelled and events which you the player have entered.

The next tab you can click to see public events, private events, the events you’re participating in and also the ones which you created or in other words hosting.

In the next tab you can see the rule types. Here you can see all types of rules events, events which are by single elimination; in this event you only play one game versus each other to qualify to the next round, you get to see anytime event which means this event doesn’t require all players to be online at the same time to play. In this event you have maybe 24 hours to put in your team before the next round. The last one being sit and go where you have to check in and be online to compete.

The next tab shows you the level of cards you want to play. You know on splinterlands our level of cards are all different so here you get to choose a tournament according to the level of your cards.

The next tab shows you what prizes or type of crypto prizes you’ll like to win. You can select from Dec to sps to hive to hbd and even land plots. Depending on the type of prize you’ll be shown which tournament has that parameter.

In the format tab you get to select if you’ll like a tournament in the modern format or wild format. Just like in battles the modern format restricts you to certain cards whiles the wild format allows you to use all types of cards.

Apart from joining tournaments you can also create tournaments by clicking on the create tab at the far right.

Tournaments are a great way to earn on on splinterlands.

Earned sps in tournaments are not staked and they directly into your account. If you ask me which tournament I think you should enter I’d say you should enter the anytime tourneys especially if you’re new to tourneys. For people who have been doing tourneys or aren’t new to the game they can enter the one they like cause they’ll most likely not forget that they have entered a tournament. You can also add it to your calendar after joining so you can be reminded.

You don’t always need to be part of the top winners to earn a prize. Most of the tournaments are designed in such a way that if you put in a little effort you earn something after that tourney.
