Today I make my participation in the weekly contest of the Splinterlands community with a FanArt of the TWISTED JESTER character. This is a death type character.

My inspiration for making this FanArt was the dark aesthetic that characterizes so much of the Splinterlands death-type characters. Also, as lately I've been practicing digital drawing I decided to make this new FanArt in digital, and I'm thinking to implement this technique in the next drawings. For this drawing I wanted to take several important elements of Twisted Jester and use them in a female body with a slightly sensual pose where the clothing would not cover all her body and would leave exposed some parts of her body such as arms, abdomen, thighs, etc... Even wanting to integrate all this in a pose that was sensual I wanted to keep that twisted and dark personality of this character, so I still wanted to keep that aesthetic in a certain way.

Below, you can see step by step how I worked on this drawing while reading a brief detailed description of what I was doing while drawing. I hope you enjoy it.

Step by step:

The first thing I did was a sketch on paper with the idea for this drawing, after defining the sketch and concluding how I wanted it to look, I took a picture of it and passed it to IbisPaint X to make the LineArt, then I added color.

Now I started to add the base colors of the drawing. I wanted to stay true to the color palette of the original drawing, so I used a fairly light tone for the skin, I used something like a grayish white with a shade of pink. For the clothing I used violet and dark gray as the base color. For the collar I used something like a red ochre color, for some borders found on the garment I also used a red color, only a bit more intense and saturated. For the banbalinas I used yellow.

For the shadows in the drawing I created a layer and set it to "multiply", following that, what I do is select my shadow brush and use the same base color for the shadows and create a darker color on top of the base color and start shading. If I need a darker shade I do the same as in the previous step only now using the shade I already applied and I already have a darker shade. I apply this with the skin and clothing.

Now for the lighting. First I created a new layer and I use it in "intense light 1" mode. With a softer brush and using a very light greyish color I start to paint some light areas and I also give small lines of strong light that reflect on the skin and on the clothing. With the cap I used an airbrush for a little softer light. I did this to get a better job with the volume of the hat.

For the face I drew some lines between red and purple on the eyelids of her eyes. I drew her lower lip with the purple color and made some red and purple lines in the area of her mouth.

To finish I had to create a background. At first I thought a lot about what to do, but in the end I made two lines, one red and one blue with the airbrush, the floor I drew with a dark gray with a strong airbrush.

El dia de hoy hago mi participación en el concurso semanal de la comunidad de Splinterlands con un FanArt del personaje de TWISTED JESTER. Este es un personaje de tipo muerte.

Mi inspiración para hacer este FanArt fue la estética oscura que caracteriza tanto a los personajes de tipo muerte de Splinterlands. Además, como últimamente he estado practicando bastante el dibujo digital me animé a hacer este nuevo FanArt en digital, y estoy pensando implementar esta técnica en los proximos dibujos. Para este dibujo quise agarrar varios elementos importantes de Twisted Jester y usarlos en un cuerpo femenino con una pose un poco sensual donde la vestimenta no taparía todo su cuerpo y dejaria al descubierto algunas partes de su cuerpo como los brazos, el abdomen, los muslos, etc. Aún queriendo integrar todo esto en una pose que fuese sensual quise que no se perdiera esa personalidad tan retorcida y tenebrosa de este personaje, por lo que aun quise mantener esa estética de cierta manera.

A continuación, podran ver paso a paso como trabajé éste dibujo mientras leen una breve descripción detalla sobre lo que hacia al dibujar. Espero que lo disfruten.

Paso a paso:

Lo primero que hice fué un boceto en papel con la idea para éste dibujo, despues de definir el boceto y concluir como quería que se viese, le tome una foto y lo pasé a IbisPaint X para hacer el LineArt, para luego pasar a añadir color.

Ahora empecé a añadir los colores base del dibujo. Me quise mantener fiel a la paleta de colores del dibujo original, así que usé un tono bastante claro para la piel, usé algo así como un blanco grisaseo con un tono de rosado. Para la vestimenta usé el color violeta y el gris oscuro como color base. Para el collarín usé algo como un color rojo ocre, para algunos bordes que se encuentran en la vestimenta también usé un color rojo, solo que un poco más intenso y saturado. Para las banbalinas usé el color amarillo.

Para las sombras del dibujo creé una capa y la configure en "multiplicar", seguido a eso, lo que hago es seleccionar mi pincel para sombras y uso el mismo color base para las sombras y se crea un color más oscuro encima del color base y empiezo a sombrear. Si necesito una sombra mas oscura hago lo mismo que en el paso anterior solo que ahora usando la sombra que ya aplique y ya tengo una sombra más oscura. Ésto lo aplique con la piel y la vestimenta.

Ahora la iluminación. Primero creé una nueva capa y la uso en modo "luz intensa 1". Con un pincel un poco mas suave y usando un color grisaseo muy claro empiezo a pintar algunas zonas de luz y también doy pequeñas lineas de luz fuerte que se reflejan en la piel y en la vestimenta. Con el gorro usé un aerógrafo para una luz un poco mas suave. Esto lo hice para lograr un mejor trabajo con el volumen del gorro.

Para el rostro dibuje unas lineas entre rojo y púrpura en los parpados de sus ojos. Dibujé su labio inferior con el color púrpura e hice unas lineas rojas y púrpuras en el area de su boca.

Para terminar debía crear un fondo. Al principio pense bastante que hacer, pero al final hice dos líneas, una roja y una azul con el aerógrafo, el piso lo dibujé con un gris oscuros con un aerógrafo fuerte.
