This were just abilities concept for the upcoming Dominion set that I made using Adobe Photoshop and Firefly for the Image and was not an official Splinterlands Card design.

The long wait is finally over because the second part of the Dominion Challenge by @thepeoplesguild is here and this time, the task is to design 3 Dominion cards with 2 commons and 1 legendary cards, each with different elements. At the same time, the abilities that were created during the part 1 of the challenge should also be integrated within the card and for those that did not participate in the previous challenge, you can still participate on this one by choosing the ability made by the other participants including mine.

Anyways, here are my 3 Dominion cards for this challenge. I have 0 drawing skills so in this post, I have to rely on Adobe Firefly for creating the characters and I try to make the characters as close as possible with the original character art style but I'm not that much of a fan of using A.I tools so aside from the characters I do the rest of editing to make it as close to a Rebellion card including their backgrounds to make their elements more distinguishable. The card back on the other hand was just a bonus.

4-Death.png Death: Witch of Deception

Lore:

Due to the invasion of the Chaos Empire, Saydie has lost her family in a young age and almost had her life lost too in the hands of the soldier of Chaos when the unnamed Witch of Warwick comes to save her. Because of this, she promised herself that she will one day get her revenge to the Chaos Empire but in order to do that, she must first need to gain power so she asked for the tutelage of the Witch of Warwick. After years of training, Saydie was able to absorbed all the teaching of her master about witchcraft but what she excels at was the use of illusion and confuse her opponent which is why she was given the title of the "Witch of Deception" by her master which soon becomes another name that becomes feared on the area around Mount Mox.

Abilities

  • Affliction: When a Monster with Affliction hits a target, it has a chance of applying Affliction on the target causing it to be unable to be healed.

  • Cripple: Each time an enemy is hit by a Monster with Cripple it loses one max health.

  • Curse Of The Banshee: For every opponent that the domineer defeats, inflicts 1 damage on all opponent units equals to the amount of hit that the target receives from the Domineer capped to 3 damage.

  • Blind: All enemy Melee & Ranged attacks have an increased chance of missing their target.

Brawl Synergy

At lower levels, the Witch of Deception may not worth its mana cost due to its low health but even at level 1, it already has 2 magic damage and by using Lorkus as a summoner, its damage will increase by 1. At the same time, having both Affliction and Cripple at level 1 can be really useful in order to prevent the target to use any healing abilities, making the target easier to defeat and if it is Witch of Deception that defeats the target, the Curse of the Banshee will inflict damage on all the opponent units equals to the amount of the times Witch of Deception takes to defeat the target. At level 5, Witch of Deception gets the Blind ability which increase the evasion chance of all ally units by 15% as long as it remains in play and can cause some huge upset due to the amount of miss the opponent has when playing against this card.

5-Life.png Life: Gabriel Brightwing

Lore:

Just like her sister, Adelade Brightwing, the burning desire to help others was also one of the qualities of Gabriel Brightwing which takes a position of a soldier in the city of Centrum in Draykh-Nahka where both of the sibling grow while her sister takes charge to fight the army of Chaos sent by the Chaos Empire. Because of him, the city of Centrum has remined safe against the possible attacks from the neighboring nations that takes the absence of Adelade Brightwing as an opportunity to invade them. Eventually, the people has began to call him as the guardian angel of the Centrum.

Abilities

  • Shield: Reduced damage from Melee and Ranged attacks.
  • Armored Strike: Any unit with this ability gains an ADDITIONAL Melee attack using its Armor stat.
  • Beacon of Life: For every opponent that the domineer defeats, increase the health of all ally units by +1 capped at 5. The health that gains through this ability will be lost once the Domineer was defeated.
  • Protect: All friendly Monsters gain +2 Armor.

Brawl Synergy

Gabriel Brightwing makes for a decent tank given that at level 1, it has the Shield ability that reduces the damage received from melee and range attacks and although it only has 2 damage at level 1, it has the Armored Strike ability which uses its armor to attack which we could increase by adding units with Protect as well as summoners that gives armor such as Lux Vega or Elias Max Pruitt and by reaching level 6, it itself gains Protect and increase its armor by 2. Meanwhile, for every card that Gabriel Brightwing defeats, the health of all its ally units will increase by 1 though it was capped at 5 and will be lost if the Domineer was defeated, similar to the Strengthen ability.

07-neutral.png Neutral: Ultear Blayde

Lore:

Ultear Blayde just like Tatiana Blayde was trained as a warrior at a young age and was deemed as a prodigy. However, Ultear as a child hates the idea of becoming a warrior and would rather want to live a normal life. That is why when Tatiana left for Mox city to become a Gladiator, Ultear has stayed in her clan and rather than weapon, what she held in her hands were a piece of embroidery that she sewn by herself. However, when the Chaos Empire begins their invasion, the normal life that she enjoys was now under a threat so she decided to once again held her blade in order to protect the peace and normal life that she has.

Abilities

  • Opportunity: Monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.

  • Flying: Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

  • United We Stand: For every opponent that the domineer defeats, temporarily increase the speed and damage of this card equals to the number of your neutral ally units, effective for 2 turns and capped at 4 each.

  • Execute: If the target has 2 or less health after a successful attack, perform another attack against the same unit.

  • True Strike: This monster's attacks cannot miss.

  • Reflection Shield: his Monster is immune to all indirect, or reflected damage. That means that it will not take damage from Blast, Thorns, Return Fire, or Magic Reflect

Brawl Synergy

As a legendary Dominion unit, Ultear Blayde comes with all the attack types which means that she can be played in most rulesets and since it has the Opportunity ability at level 1, it can attack the opponent unit which have the lowest health while its Flaying ability makes it immune to Earthquake ruleset. Upon reaching level 2, it becomes more powerful by having the Execute ability that allows it to attack once again if the target only has 2 or less health and at level 3, it gains True Strike which means that it will never miss its attack. Finally, gaining Reflection Shield at max level makes it a true beast of a card that is immune to blast and reflective damage. That's not all into it cause if Ultear Blyde defeats an opponent, its speed and damage will increase equals to the amount of ally neutral units in play that will last for 2 rounds due to the effect of United We Stand which makes Shades of Grey the best ruleset for this card. Though one big consideration for using this card is its huge mana cost that makes it difficult to utilize its ability on low mana matches. When it comes to summoner using it together with Akane and giving it the Ambush ability during the tactics phase could allow it to activate its ability even before the battle starts while using Nidhoggr and giving it either the Blast ability during the tactics phase may provide with an interesting battle.

Closing

And this were the cards that I designed for the Dominion set, each having a different element and also uses the abilities that I created from my previous post. I try to balance each of their corresponding abilities based on the rarity of the card so that they won't become super dominant in brawls or if they ever become present in the ranked battles unless they were on the highest levels. I also added some short lore for each cards that ties them to the wider Splinterlands lore to give more life to the card that I design.

Also, that Ultear Blayde! Everything about this card is incredible. And of course Tatiana's little sister is going to be an absolute beast!
