Vonak: The Rise of Rebellion Legendary Rewards Pt. 1
Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
Today is my birthday and to celebrate it, I've got to watch Joker: Folie à Deux which is kind of a mistake cause the movie is bad but after that, we've gone on a dinner with my friends. Still, I did not skip on playing my daily Splinterlands battles.
Anyways, I've now reached the last set for my Rebellion soulbound rewards review with the last rarity which is legendary. Among the card rarities, legendary was the most rare and CP-wise has the most collection power which means that unbinding them also cost the highest. In this post, I will be talking about the Fire and Water legendary soulbound reward.

The first card that we have was Surly Drunk which is a card that was revealed by @bronzedragon. It was a 1-mana melee card which at max level has a damage of 2 and a speed and health of 3. It also has the Opportunity ability starting at level 1 which allows it to target the opponent with the lowest health. As it was a 1- mana card, it can be used on Little League ruleset and since it has melee attack, having it on low mana battles with Up Close and Personal ruleset can make for an efficient lineup. Not only that, it can always act as a damage sponge or when you only have 1 mana left but still have an empty slots in your lineup, particularly on Odd Ones Out ruleset.
Little League | Only monsters & summoners that cost 4 mana or less may be used in battles. |
Up Close & Personal | Only Monsters with Melee attack may be used in battles. |
Odd Ones Out | Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles. |
When it comes to summoners, it can benefit the most when used together with Tarsa by giving it +1 melee damage to increase its attack and +1 health to make it last longer. It may also be used together with Lorkus by having +1 melee attack and maybe giving it the Life Leach will allow it to increase its health while attacking the opponent as well as prevent them from using healing abilities. We may as well include Lux Vega to give it additional speed, health and armor which could allow it to last longer in battle.

The next card, Emberguard, was a 7- mana mage unit from the same fire element which at max level has the max damage of 3 along with 8 health, 2 speed and 1 armor. When it comes to its abilities, It has Demoralize at level 1 which reduces the melee attack of all opponent units as long as this card remains in play and at level 2, it gains the Reflection Shield ability which makes it immune on blast and return damage. Finally, when it reaches max level, it gains Dispel which removes all the positive buffs on the target as well as remove the abilities that was gained from the Mimic ability. Being a 7-mana card makes it good for Odd Ones Out ruleset as well as during Wands Out ruleset, being it a magic card. It will also work quite well when used during Explosive Weaponry and Counterspell ruleset as Reflection Shield will give it the protection it needs to survive on this rulesets.
Odd Ones Out | Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles. |
Wands Out | Only monsters with Magic attack may be used in battles. |
Explosive Weaponry | All Monsters have the Blast ability. |
Counterspell | All monsters have the Magic Reflect ability. |
Being it a magic unit, using it with Lorkus will allow it to gain +1 magic damage and it could as well be a recipient of Life Leach and Affliction during the tactics phase.

Revealed By | @sgt-dan |
Moving on, we have another 1-mana card but this time on the water element. It's name was Endless Gibson which is revealed by @sgt-dan and is another melee unit that has a similar stats with Surly Drunk except for its reach ability that allows it to attack on the second position. Given its similarities to Surly Drunk makes it also useable on Little League, Up Close and Personal and Odd Ones Out ruleset.
Little League | Only monsters & summoners that cost 4 mana or less may be used in battles. |
Up Close & Personal | Only Monsters with Melee attack may be used in battles. |
Odd Ones Out | Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles. |
As for the summoner, maybe we can try it with Elias Max Pruitt to give it additional attack and armor but having Kelya and Lux Vega for an additional armor and speed will not hurt.
Edition | Rebellion |

Mana Cost | 6 |
Element | Water |
Rarity | Legendary |
Card Type | Range |
Abilities | Lvl 1- Opportunity Lvl 1- Immunity Lvl 2- Blast |

Revealed By | @psilence |
For the last card, we have Knight Reaper that was first shown to us by @psilence. This was a 6- mana range unit with a max damage of 3, max speed of 4 and health of 6. At level 1, it has both Opportunity and Immunity that allows it to attack the opponent unit with the least health while also being immune on any negative status effects. As it reach level 2, it gains Blast which inflicts damage on units adjacent to the target. Having the Immunity makes it to be an obvious card to use during Noxious Fumes ruleset but it also would not hurt to use it during Keep Your Distance, Close Range and Going the Distance ruleset.
Noxious Fumes | All Monsters start the battle Poisoned. |
Keep Your Distance | Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles. |
Close Range | Range attacks may be used in the first position in battles. |
Going the Distance | Only monsters with Range attack may be used in battle. |
As for summoner, gaining +2 range damage from Prophet Rosa will make its Blast more powerful, specially on range only battles.
But even at level 2, Seargent Grauzral was already good enough as it already have all of its main abilities, particulartly the Immunity that allows it to be unaffected during Noxious Fumes ruleset just like on this Battle.
Final Thoughts
I've now reached the last set for my Rebellion soulbound rewards review with the last rarity which is legendary. Compared to the Epic rewards, this set comes a little underwhelming as they doesn't have any new abilities and their stats was not that amazing. That said, they have their own niche use case where they would eventually shine.
Once again I would like to express my gratitude to everyone in the community that helps in sharing the information about the cards.
Thank you and see you at the next post.
