Thoughts On Latest Townhall September 19 2024
Introduction
Hope you all having a great weekend. My weekend is pretty much over and today I want to discuss my thoughts on the latest town hall. Town halls are monthly now so it's crucial to see what the team is up to! I will be highlighting the most interesting points and sharing my thoughts on them.

Promo Card Prices
Matt talked about the hall of promo card prices. If I'm not mistaken, he mentioned that the prices were meant to be set that way to be a "promo". It not only helps give the company revenue but it's also helping to sink DEC. For me, I think this is ok because they need to be rare to be promo. I'm not buying any as mentioned last week, I'm still concerned about the future of Splinterlands. I hope there is enough sales there and people do get an ROI or make some profit on taking the risk with these promos.
Glamour
I believe this is the first time the team mentioned glamour. I think it's a cool concept to give cards skin/animations. It will make certain cares more special since everyone has the same but this kind of sets cards apart than just being gold foil. For example, Gods unchained has the same card but they have meteorite, shadow, gold, diamond and I think glamour will be a similar concept. I think this is a good idea to get more money into the Splinterlands ecosystem and honestly, it looks fire. There are some crazy collectors that would just buy for the visuals like look at all the people that buy skins on games like league of legends, honor of kings, mobile legends bang bang etc.
Land Delayed 2025
I think this was kind of expected. There was no confirmation on NPE being released yet which means it's still the main focus and being worked on. In addition to that, crytomancer is still figuring out the code base for land and he has to learn it on his own so this is one of the reasons for the delay. Cryptomancer mentioned that it won't be ready until early next year. The team can't put any other resources into land so only cryptomancer is working on it right now. I think it's ok being delayed again. I'd rather have something working and out than broken and problematic.

Yea that's what I like about the townhalls but also listening to the peoples guild podcast, hearing positive things make me feel better about all the energy I put in to splinterlands.
I've bought a max level thaddius, silent shavi, Igor darkspear and wave brood today, now I'm out of DEC again lol

yeah that was not a good time, I felt bad for weirdbeard. He seemed like a nice guy and really wanted to improve things
ya he was good . wonder where he went but hopefully they can bring him back onboard in the future. I think he had a great personality to connect with the community.
Hope we see the bounce back; that's what matters. better than some other projects i got into that just quit while things were tough
Yeah exactly, he had so much energy. I'm sure he'll be doing fine but like you say be great to get him back onboard at a later date
it's ok :(. maybe someone new will be like that. right now theres a lacking of someone between team and community.
I don't mind the pricing of promo cards. If it's too expensive then it will be whales who will buy and will not really affect my game. What's important for the economy is that it will be a DEC sink.
ya that's how I feel too. No worries let the whales handle and keep the economy up lol
