Splinterlands: Is rent to win profitable?

Experiment

Death and Earth elements are my favorite in silver league. With these cards, you can reach 1,900+ rating and the rewards are better compared to staying in bronze without renting anything.

There are four things to consider when creating a deck.

  1. Budget - Before renting any card, make sure you have a budget to stick to.
  2. Tanks/Frontliners - Each league has its own OP tank.
  3. Damage Dealers - These are the lethal backliners that would assassinate your enemies quickly.
  4. Utility Monsters - Rent some healers or monsters that are great for specific rulesets.

Tanks are expensive to rent so I decided to use the starter tanks in Earth and Death elements wich are Unicorn Mustang and Haunted Spirit. My damage dealers are mostly the monsters with snipe so I rented some neutrals which I can use in any element.

Data

Budget: 110 DEC
Target league: Silver 1
Decks: Earth, Death, Neutral

Note

These cards might not work for you because we have different strategies in game. To find out which strategy and cards work best for you, I recommend doing at least four experiments.

Mylor crowling is not included in this experiment.

Result

Total Spent: 110 DEC
Total DEC Earned: 180.12 DEC
Net Profit: 70.12 DEC

Conclusion

Although my profit is 70 DEC, I could have made much more if only I did not set my budget so low. On my previous experiment, I spent 462 DEC in rentals but the profit was significantly higher than this one.

To make the most out of your rentals, go all the way to 25% ECR from 100% ECR. Make sure to create a rental deck that is cost efficient but competitive enought otherwise you'll have a serious trouble winning on your target league.

Is renting profitable? Yes! Not only will you get a lot DEC from winning ranked games but you will also get a bunch of loot chests from daily quests.
