Introducing Battle Mage Secrets, the latest addition to our exciting challenges. This contest is all about putting your strategic prowess to the test as you share your epic matches and team compositions designed for specific rule sets.

CHALLENGE RULES

RULESET: Going the Distance


Description:

Only units with ranged attacks may be used.

Consider including units with the Close Range and Return Fire abilities in your lineup.


Battle Showcase: Create a post sharing a video link of one of your battles using the Going the Distance ruleset. Be sure to link to your battle even if you also upload it to a video hosting platform like YouTube.

Submission Deadline: The deadline for submissions is 2 days before the post pays out (Monday at 12 pm CDT). This is to ensure that our curators have enough time to review all the entries before the next challenge is posted. Your punctuality is appreciated!

UPVOTES! Participants who follow ALL the rules will receive upvotes from the @steemmonsters account.

Voting Quantity: You can get a MAXIMUM of 2 upvotes per week, per human. Please limit your entries to TWO posts a week. Take your time, make your posts awesome, and impress us with your Splinterlands skills!

Fair Play: Anyone found using more than one account to enter the contest will be muted in the community and banned from all curation and the possibility for participation in future contests.

Did whoever is in charge of upvotes for the splinterlands team get cut in the multiple rounds of layoffs? Just scrolling through for the last several months I have notice that the votes on the weekly challenge posts and social media posts has been super low when compared say to 2021 during the hype train. With sps being in the dirt posting was a way to earn and bring more into the game. I havent made a post of my own in two years to do desktop problems. But I was just super curious about the upvote situation. I know not every post deserves a big vote but I have seen some solid posts get a 11 hive total if they are lucky. When in 2021 it seemed like that same style post would earn 3 to 4 times that amount.

Going The Distance is quite a tricky ruleset compared to others. In the battle you are limited to deploy only ranged cards; but with ranged cards unable to strike from the frontier, it become a tricky of which cards should be a sacrificial lamb. Certainly Close Range ability become sought after in this ruleset, although its not particularly always the case. Whats more important is how you balance between holding the frontier as long as possible while the rear squad barrage their arrows.
