Splinterlands: The Chaos Legion is Coming!

The presale will start Monday, October 18th, 2021 and it will run for 30 days!
This presale will work a bit differently than how they've worked in the past. To make things fair and give everyone equal access to the first run of cards with the most bonus rewards, we've implemented a voucher system.
33,333 Vouchers will be airdropped per day for 30 days to SPS stakers proportional to their share of total staked SPS. The presale packs will only be able to be purchased with a voucher.
The benefits of SPS aren't going to stop there though. During the presale event, packs can be purchased with SPS at a 10% discount. The base price of the packs is going to be $4.00 so purchasing with SPS during the presale is going to be the cheapest way to buy Chaos Legion packs.
Long term, SPS will be used in similar ways for future releases. SPS is the official governance token of Splinterlands, so it will also give players a say in future decisions on the direction of the game.
Now, let's take a moment to discuss the packs themselves. Each pack will contain 5 cards, one of which is guaranteed to be of rare quality or higher. There will still be the same chance of rare, epic, legendary, and gold foil cards as our previous packs, and yes potions can be used to increase the drop rate of legendary and gold foil cards. The total supply of Chaos Legion packs is also going to be higher than previous packs to accommodate the recent massive increase in players.
There will be a grand total of 15 million Chaos Legion packs ever minted.
Now that we've answered some of your most burning questions, let's talk about what to expect after the presale. After the initial 30 day presale period there will be a 1 week grace period to allow players to finish using up their vouchers on the presale Chaos legion packs. At that point, you'll want to stay tuned to find out when the packs will be released and when the public sale will officially begin.

Yes
CL Packs will have to be bought at a price of 4$ in different choosable payment currencies, but you also have to burn a voucher and only using SPS as payment vehicle will add a 10% discount while checkout. Vouchers can be bought on HIVE-Engine from other Players or get airdropped to you directly due to your SPS Stake.
Well, I hope I have enough SPS staked and not staked to get a couple of packs.

Looks like I will get 16 total, unless only getting a half voucher doesn't get you one.
yeah, you need 1 voucher to buy 1 presale pack, so looks like you will be getting just over 1 voucher every 2 days, these will also be tradeable on hive-engine so you can either buy more or sell yours

I have like 20 SPS, I guess I won’t be able to get the chaos legion pack?
Buy a voucher on HIVE-Engine (will basically be a tradeable token) before you buy the pack. They just want to split the revenue with the biggest SPS Hodlers and therefore actively push the exchange PRICE of SPS, wich will will bring further attention to the game in the global Crypto Space of Investors. Makes a lot of sense to me.
Also, everyone who gets, let's say 2 Vouchers a day like me for example, can just buy the packs with the SPS Airdrop. 50-60$ a day worth of SPS Airdrop, but only 2 vouchers on wich I can spend 8$ to actually buy the two packs. ... ... and that ratio should be basically the same for everyone in the first month.

if you are getting 2 vouchers a day, you probably get way more than 50-60$ a day in SPS. You need about 8000 SPS staked to get 2 vouchers a day
I have 6,5k SPS and get ~70 additional a day. Am I playing it wrong?

One million vouchers dropped, one million packs in the presale. This means that for every VOUCHER there's a Chaos pack "reserved" for you during the pre-sale. Sweeeet!

That issue needs explicit clarification BEFORE Monday.
Why? Every time someone buys a presale pack a voucher will just go into the Splinterlands account, so in theory if the presale packs are all sold all the vouchers will be held by Splinterlands after 30 days or so... so there really is no need for them to announce future plans for vouchers...
Also, they wrote this in a previous announcement post
"The Splinterlands team plans to use the same VOUCHER system, or something very similar, for providing early access to limited releases for new items and features and we also plan to provide discounts and other incentives for spending SPS tokens for purchases in many different areas of the game in the future, where appropriate."
From an investment perspective it's just better for me to have more info about what exactly the use-case of the tokens are!
Personally I'm doing everything - got enough staked for me, I'll sell some SPS too.
They've said that vouchers will be important in the future. If you read their last chaos legion post they go into much more detail. It sounds like it should be important to me.
You will always have to have a voucher to buy a pack of CL.

It's my understanding that all 15M CL packs will be available for purchase, after the Pre-Sale Ends.
The cost of those packs will continue to be $4 + 1 voucher- for probably at least 5-6 months.
I'm guessing you'll also need voucher for other things yet to be developed in the game!
I'm sure the mini-set packs will be handled in about the same manner- people have also mentioned vouchers for Tourney entrance fees and prizes and, like you said, MANY other things yet to be developed.

Thats the info I want to know as well. If yes it gives much more wiggle room for purchasing at the end of presale. It would suck to wait 29 days for max voucher drop and then have ones internet cut out on day 30.
At first I got excited that we were getting some new Splinterland news but its more a reminder post of previous information (Which is cool but not as cool as new information).

Yes, I would guess that the week following the last airdrop will be used for people to mix and match their VOUCHERs on the market to either make fractional ones whole, or sell those fractions into the market. That will also give people a chance to decide whether they want to sell their most recent airdropped VOUCHERs or use them to buy packs.
You also have to remember that there are some people who are getting thousands of VOUCHERs. Not all of them are "rich". I'm sure many of them just started playing this game early and managed to amass huge decks that all of a sudden became worth thousands of dollars. They might get 5000 or more VOUCHERs but may not want to spend $20k+ on all those packs. Who am I kidding? Of course they will! They'll have plenty of SPS with which to buy them for a discount so they can just use that.
But it IS something to keep in mind. There might be some selling of VOUCHERs into the market because I have a feeling they're going to go for a LOT more than the actual packs.

I have some SBS and it's good to get some chaos legion packs which would be great, I haven't opened any yet and I'm excited to open my first one.

One question: what is going to happen with the Chaos Packs that don't get sold? With literally thousands of people getting tiny fractions every day, it is highly unlikely all of those bits and pieces get sold into the market. That means there will probably be a few Packs left over that are covered by all the fractions of VOUCHERs that don't get "used" or sold into the market.
Being that I'm asking the question, I volunteer to take a few of those off of your hands. lol Just trying to do my part to make sure there aren't too many loose ends. :-)
Packs that don't sell during the pre-sale will simply be added to the total available for purchase later on once Chaos Legion officially launches.

Well, this whole Vocher thing was them attempting to make a pre-sale more fun, but it's still a "cold" logic system. It's supposed to be fair, not fun.

this would pretty exciting
so some quick math here. As someone with over 9k value of cards I will be getting roughly 0.189 vouchers a day. So I will be able to buy 5 presale packs during the 30 days and whales, for a change are going to be greatly favorized. The scaling is always favoring massive whales and it's fucking annoying. There should be diminishing returns on this stuff so that new players can participate as well. And no, spending 4000$ on shards to be able to buy 4$ card packs isnt a proper answer.
well I think a solution to this would be to directly buy some more SPS. Now it's already a bit pricey, but there is a good chance for it to go into the $ range. So you would be maximizing the cards you could buy and make a potential profit from selling SPS in the future
