The Splinterlands Town Hall has recently concluded and there were some interesting topics mentioned. Matt and the team is really laser-focused on the player experience side of Splinterlands and the newly released one click rentals are essential to it.

I believe Peakmonsters already has a feature similar to this where users can customize their own decks for easier rental process. But having rentals in-game is essential because this will be the only platform new players would be interfacing with initially.

Creating your own sets are also very intuitive as you are choosing from card images instead of names. If you are playing for the first time, you wouldn't really memorize most of the names but you can definitely associate easier with the artwork of the cards.

Another topic raised during the town hall was the new conflict reward card. I believe the current modern meta is still biased towards Chaos Legion. The Rebellion set will only unravel once Chaos rotates out and new reward cards are available. The legendary summoners from the conflicts are also crucial for new upcoming strategies.

I'm a little disappointed that there are currently no immediate plans post-Rebellion conflicts. This means there would be a couple of months where the battle wagons are unusable. Rebellion card and pack prices might also fall further. But on the other hand, this might also present a unique opportunity for modern players to get cards at discounted prices while preparing for the new modern landscape without Chaos Legion.

Finally, I would like to thank the Hive community for coming together and pushing through Splinterland's DHF proposal.

I have seen back-and-forth debate on whether to support this or not. But I truly believe that funding Splinterlands is beneficial to the entire Hive ecosystem overall. Matt has really set its goal for the first half of the year to enhancing the player experience side of the game. The additional funds will be very useful for funding advertisement efforts and every new player that buys a spellbook is a new user account for Hive as well.
