Fun fact, for my entire Splinterlands career, I have not spammed a strategy as often as I had with Llama and Kron. Whenever I see that the rule sets and mana allow for it, I automatically choose this lineup. It's probably one of the best 17-mana combination you can pull off.

A quick recap of the Scarred Llama - Kron the Undying combo, basically, Llama gives Kron the Last Stand ability which activates when he is the last monster on your side of the field. This increase all of his stats by 1.5 times rounded up. And due to Kron's high health as well as the buff he receives from Llama, plus his own healing ability, Kron becomes a monstrous one-man tank that can wipe out an entire enemy team.

This strategy was popular back when I joined the game, pre-Chaos Legion. But now, I am one of the few who runs this in the gold modern league. Shoutout to the players who I battled with using Llama-Kron. 😁

This was a perfect match made in heaven. But then came this new rule set a few days back, Are You Not Entertained?

This new rule set allows you to rein in a Gladiator card from your collection without using the new soulbound summoners with the Conscript ability. And there's one particular Gladiator card that's notoriously good and is often banned in guild brawls, Quora Towershead.

I've written articles before about Kron and Quora before. And by comparison, I'd say Quora is a strictly better card than Kron the Undying. Let's check out their stats.

Both are solid tanks with high health and capable of self-healing. But Quora is slightly better in health, speed, plus her dual attack types, melee and magic. Not to mention that she gets a stat boost every time she kills an enemy with her Bloodlust skill. Her potential is even amplified once she gets the Last Stand skill activated.

Luckily, my first ever battle having the Are You Not Entertained rule set allows me to use both Quora and Kron! You can check the full battle here.

This is a 46-mana gold league match with Are You Not Entertained, Heavy Hitters, and Super Sneak rule sets. I'm surprised that the enemy did not take advantage of having the option to bring in a Gladiator card. The route he took was quick melee attacks with Jacek's speed boost and the Super Sneak rule set.

Having 46 mana limit, I placed Pelacor Mercenary as a tank while having Quora as a secondary damage dealer. On top of her own self-healing, I also had Goblin Psychic with Tank Heal for when Quora takes the front spot. And I also have the classic Kron sandwitched with two Martyr monsters.

I did not expect Kron to die this early in the game. Melee monsters kept on hammering away on Kron and his heal and high health simply can't keep up. This made me really worried that I might lose this match.

Goblin Psychic also kicked the bucket and I was down to two units, Quora and Pelacor Mercenary versus five enemy monsters. I had a glimmer of hope when Quora suddenly kills Antoid Platoon and activates her first Bloodlust boost.

Pelacor Mercenary proves to be a better tank than I expected. He even evades a few melee attacks thanks to his Flying ability. Things are also looking good for Quora as he racks up her second kill, Forgotten One. At this point, I am confident that she can take out the remaining monsters once Last Stand activates.

And it didn't even reach the point where Last Stand activates as Quora became strong enough to one shot the remaining monsters with her combined melee and magic damage output. The game was over at round seven.

This is a 21-mana gold battle with Are You Not Entertained rule set. The enemy uses Lorna Shine which can be annoying but since Quora has two attacks, one can be used to take down Divine Shield and another to inflict damage. Here's a quick progression of what went down.

And there you have it. I think this pretty much shows how strong Quora Towershead can be when paired with Scarred Llama. She's definitely a powerhouse and an unstoppable beast once she gains momentum.
