At the time of writing, it's just a day away from the release of new soul-bound reward cards. And among all the spoiler cards released by various Splinterlands content creators, one card stood out to me the most - Shock Trooper.

Shock Trooper was revealed by Blockchain Cards over in X. And with just one look, I immediately fell in love with it. I like cards with humor and this one takes home the bacon. So the image is a soldier who is apparently being shocked for some unknown reason.

And luckily, the lore for this card is also included in the spoiler and I won't have to wait for the official release to read it. Apparently, the scavo technomancer who created the Runis has also invented an electrovolt zappack that imbues the user with electric attacks. But the downside to this prototype is that it also has a tendency to shock the user as well as those near around him. This explains the funny artwork of a soldier being electrocuted and why he has magic attack.

For four mana, this card has five magic attack, speed buff, and magic reflect. I can see Shock Trooper partnering well with Djinn Oshannus or Coeurl Lurker. The magic reflect would also give it an advantage on the Wands Out rule set.

But I think the deal-breaker here is the new skill Electrified. It states that it deals 1 damage to all allied units which I suppose includes the user itself. It's like having a Redemption trigger on your units each round. One thing to consider is if the damage is physical or magic properties. If it's a physical attack, then cards that give Protect like Venari Wavesmith and Arkemis the Bear would be a good way to mitigate this negative effect. And maybe Reflection Shield would also block that damage as well, but I've yet to confirm it through actual battle tests.

What I would actually do right away though is to try and use it in-between Martyr cards like Vruz and Venari Marksrat. That would potentially increase its already strong stats to an even higher level. Maybe I can also add Resurrect cards such as River Hellondale. There are numerous possibilities for this card and I'm looking forward to unlocking him first!
